The NFL season is a marathon and is full of ups and downs as teams make their way to the playoffs, and hopefully the Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers have made it out of the first dip of the season, and have done so with a bang. While fans, news outlets, and talking heads delete those “Brock Purdy” can’t get it done trash. Fresh off a serious beat down of the Eagles on the ROAD the gang returns home looking to continue the hot streak as the Seattle Seahawks roll into town. Also depending on how the Cowboys vs Eagles game goes could a shot at the number 1 seed still be in the cards? First, we take care of business at home with the team in front of us.
Defense Keep Hunting:
Each game Chase Young shows more and more and maybe this week it comes out as a big game for him. This defense is better versus the run than the pass and Geno Smith does give you some once in a while forcing him to throw 30-plus times isn’t a bad thing. I would expect once again Charvarius Ward follows DK Metcalf all over the field. I know Metcalf is coming off a big game against Dallas, but last time Ward held him to three catches on nine targets for 32 yards. You can’t let him just make big splash plays and expose the secondary, Ward has been playing some good ball so this matchup is one to watch all game long. Both Seahawks running backs are out and this is another advantage for the home team. With Geno fighting a grion injury he shouldn’t be to mobile so the front four can pin its ears back and get after him.
Run CMC, Run:
Having already passed the 1,000-yard make Christain McCaffrey looks to add to that total and pad those insane touchdown numbers as he sits at 17 and counting. With its defense ranking 21st vs the run, it only makes sense to smash it off the jump, which in turn makes life very easy for Brock Purdy. Deebo Samuel is also a part of the run and a trick play could be in the cards. The Niners will never have a game plan where the run game isn’t top of mind as we play a very physical brand of football.
Keep The Main Thing, The Main Thing:
With an opportunity is clinch a playoff spot with some help, as well as that number seed in the NFC it would be easy to look over these Seahawks. The 49ers can’t do that, they need to be locked in and continue to build from the reset we had after the Vikings loss on Monday Night. With things like a hobbled QB, bad pass defense, and injured backs things seem to be lined up for a Niners win, all reasons to get caught in a trap game. Kyle has to come out and set the tone early and not let his guys get caught slipping. We hear it all the time and the good teams indeed win the games they should when they have more talent. This is the case in this game I see a 32-17 49ers win #NinerGang
