The is a complete disconnect between Bob Melvin and his players. There is no excuse why the San Diego Padres are under .500 and have one of the worst averages with runners in scoring position. With all that talent in that lineup, they should be in second place and at least in a Wild-Card spot. So what could be the main reason? The manager Bob Melvin has zero connection with his players. He was handed this team with this lineup, and they can’t even beat the Kansas City Royals at home who have one of the worst records in baseball? Pathetic.
The Padres Can’t Beat The Royals
The Padres will face the Boston Red Sox this weekend and let me tell you Alex Cora is ten times the manager Bob Melvin is. Melvin came from the Oakland Athletics who can’t even fill their stadium and applied to move to Vegas. Melvin should go back to the loser Athletics because that’s where he belongs. The Padres want to win and their loser of a manager is in the way.
The Padres are about to be in fourth place in the division. That is unacceptable with the amount of talent they have. There is no excuse for it. They can’t hit to save their life and their starting pitching is subpar. Blake Snell has won like one game this season other than that he blows. Musgrove got shelled last Sunday against the Dodgers. This is what Bob Melvin said the other night after they lost to the putrid Royals
He sounds like such a loser. He is very boring to listen to and there is zero energy. That’s who the Padres think will lead them to a World Series? I don’t think so.
Should San Diego Padres Fire Bob Melvin
The San Diego Padres need someone who is younger and can bring a new vibe to the team. Melvin is too old school and clearly can’t connect with Tatis, Bogaerts, Machado, Soto, etc. You need someone who can get a jolt in the locker room. I bet when Melvin talks players don’t listen and it’s a snooze fest. If I was the GM I would be scouting Alex Cora this weekend. Hoping Cora gets fired from Boston so they can bring him to San Diego.
A manager like Cora can at least connect with Bogaerts, Machado, Tatis, Soto, etc. A manager like that would be able to get more out of his lineup and they’d at least be over .500. Also, they’d probably be in the playoffs either winning the division or in a wild-card spot. The Padres will not win a World Series as long as that old Melvin is the manager. Get him out of the organization and send him back to loser Oakland.
