Heading into Dallas with playoff implications on the line this weekend and which teams would punch their tickets to the playoffs in New Orleans, as if each game intensity wasn’t enough – The BIG3 pretty much said themselves,
“Hell let’s just make it bigger!”
Then proceeded to announce the BIG3 Ballout Basketball Festival in Dallas, Texas.
The first-of-its-kind event to feature six games with musical performances and more at American Airlines Center.
“As a league, we want to continue to be innovative and provide our fans with a truly first-class experience, and there is no better way than this groundbreaking festival and celebration of basketball,” said BIG3 co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz. “This will be a star-studded entertainment event with world-class musicians and athletes in a beautiful city with a rich basketball tradition.”
Ice Cube and BIG3 commissioner Clyde Drexler made appearances in many of the fan-friendly activities.
“Cause it’s bigger than basketball, you know,” Ice Cube says, “When I told these guys about the Big3, and they blessed me by being apart of the league, I explained to them that I wanted to do things in the community, and it wasn’t about just going to play a basketball game, but it was about leaving the communities better than when we found them. A little more love, a little more happiness.”
“It’s a blessing that Ice Cube has put this together to give us the platform to get hit the communities and just give back where we can. Trying to help people help themselves and just give them a little love,” said -Ghost Ballers, Ricky Davis.
