This week the Bachelorette had me on pins and needles early as we waited to see what Jen was going to do about her ex-Matt who flew to New Zealand to profess his love for her. The poor guys are left in the hotel wondering if she is going to allow this dude to hop off the sidelines and into the mix. Well, Jenn in my opinion makes the right choice and sends Matt on his way, giving a nice boost of confidence to the remaining guys’s well sort of she canceled the rose ceremony which leaves some shaken.
The One on One Dates
Jenn continues to just be all about adventure and heights grabbing Jonathan for a helicopter ride to Waiheke Island. Shocker Jonathan is afraid of heights, so it is up to Jen to make sure he is ok which so does. They play around in a vineyard and end up getting some quality time in the hot tub and share their true feelings to see if they can get out of the friend zone. We learn his past relationship ended very badly with his ex having mental health and alcohol issues. As if written in Hollywood Jenn shares, that she has also been in an emotionally abusive relationship. The two share the same family problems as well, what does this mean for a future together? Stay tuned.
The second 1 on 1 is with Grant who was pumped to get some alone time with Jenn. I loved this date super cute low-key horseback riding and picnic it started to rain, and they both didn’t let it ruin the vibe. Bonus points for Grant grabbing the umbrella and making sure his lady could be dry while she sipped champagne. One of the rare times I have seen one of the guys really open up and take advantage of his time with her. Letting her know he likes her flaws and all cue the Beyoncé. Talking at dinner about his dads fight with addiction and how it is a whole new world now building a lief with his sober father. And Jenn speaks on how her dad has had a negative impact on her dating life. The chemistry between these 2 is really good.
Bye Bye Austin
The group date was so bad I did not understand how being on the farm showed anything and wanted the segment to end asap. And somehow again this guy Devin wins “most valuable farmer” I just don’t see it at all but hey man to each his own. I will say he does always make a way to steal a moment here or there with Jenn, so I guess he is always top of mind for her? Austin goes full blown freakout mode!! He has not had a 1 on 1 and sees other guys getting deeper and deeper with Jenn. With the time they have left he doesn’t think he will get there with her, so he bounces! In a way cool move to give the other guys more space, but on the other hand dude just gave up. This took Jen for a loop and makes her question herself and all those pesky insecurities rush over her. Is she good enough, is she filling this role the right way, will she end up alone. Props to the remaining dudes for lifting her up and getting her in a better head space. I’ve been there and it sucks.
Now my first Power Rankings:
1. Devin- I don’t get it but I am not the Bachelorette lol
2. Grant- He crushed the one on one and is falling HARD for our girl
3. Sam- Something still seems off about him
4. Marcus- If he just opens up a bit more he could win this thing
5. Jonathan- Got out of the “friend zone” now can he keep things growing
6. Jeremy- I forget he is still around until the rose ceremony every week lol.
7. Spencer- Didn’t think he would make it this far to be honest. Keeping the main thing, the main thing
Until Next week Bachelor Nation!!
