What a week in the world of The Bachelor! Am I alone in this or does anyone else feel like the season JUST started and we are down to 6 this fast? This episode started with us seeing Joey starting to feel the weight of the process, as well as the fear of pouring into someone only to lose in the end. Seeing him this way only made him more of my favorite bachelor in YEARS. Hitting up Canada we had a group date and saw the ladies struggle to adapt and be all in as they saw Joey with the other ladies and how close he is with them. Another battle was also figuring out where and when to fit into the group setting. Jenn made an impression along with Kelsey A, where we saw Jess have a breakdown and I didn’t even know Lea was on the date until the last second. The winner of the group date rose was Jen. The 1-on-1 dates went to Maria and Kelsey T. The first date was Kelsey joining Joey on a Cirque du Soleil-type date and all the nerves she had went away as she jumped right into it, while Joey got dizzy and had to take a break. Kelsey used that as a chance to show her softer side and help him through it. She also opened up about her family and the relationship with her father that has affected her ever since.
I have to say I was wrong about Maria. She is just herself no matter what and you have to love that on a show where people put up walls and act fake. The two of them together are so good together, the way she always finds a way to make Joey get out of his bubble. The interaction between the two comes across as very natural. Without having the mean girls beating her down we see a softer side of Maria and it isn’t bad at all.
The cocktail party was something else as the ladies still see and hear that Joey is down in the dumps so some choose to make it about him and cheer him up. Jenn teaches him how to play the piano and Daisy shares her love for a good foot rub early and often which wasn’t strange at all. The big highlight was Jess professing her love for Joey, who had the look of a man who just got the middle pick of a fantasy football draft. She was floored when he let her know not only did he not feel the same, but he didn’t see his feelings changing so he walked her out. Not the biggest Jess fan but that was tough to watch not gonna lie. During his time with Lexi, she asked what Joey’s timeline looked like and it wasn’t near what she wanted in life. Lexi who is 30 also has Endometriosis which may prevent her from having children or at the least make it very difficult. So she didn’t have time to wait. Both of them handled it like adults and Joey was 100% shocked when she said she was leaving, but good for her standing on what she wants and believes.
So with Jess and Lexi both gone the ladies got a shock when only 3 roses showed up on the platter and they went to Rachel, Daisy, and Kelsey A. So Katelyn and Lea got sent home and to see Katelyn sucked she was a cool chick who I think just needed some more Facetime with Joey and the fall of Lea will be a legend on this show. How stupid does she look now to throw the date steal card in the fire, not to mention her role flip from favorite to villain? At least she will always have her nails. Now to the 6 remaining ladies ranked.
- Maria- She has Joey wrapped around her finger or at least it seems.
- Jenn- Not sure if anyone on the show does better with the time they get with Joey. Plus she just seems super cool and fun
- Daisy- Still America’s sweetheart but the other ladies are giving her a fight.
- Rachel- Not much to say except that she knows what she wants
- Kelsey T- Next week she could make a nice jump up the rankings.
- Kelsey A- Do not sleep on her.
Can’t wait for next week what did you think of this week’s episode and the season so far? Will Lea be back on another show or is that it? Until next time Bachelor Nation.
