Season 28 of the long running reality hit The Bachelor sees Joey Graziadei a former contestant on The Bachelorette back and looking for love. He was 2nd place back in season 20 and the tennis teaching pro who is 28-years old With the runaway hit that was the Golden Bachelor just ended fans are expecting a lot this season and the premier was one that Bachelor Nation had on our calendars. Jesse Palmer is back as the host since Chris Harrison was given the boot back in 2021. We saw 32 that is right 32 women make 32 different types of entrances all in hopes of grabbing a rose and maybe an early jump on Joey heart. He made it pretty clear what he was looking for when he said Jesse Palmer during The Bachelorette finale “I’m looking for someone that’s just themselves. Someone that challenges me. Someone to do life with me.” The premier seemed like it went on FOREVER but that’s ok because the drama was there and also some favorites emerged as well as women who needed to go home that night so lets dive in.
My Contenders:
Autumn- The 26 year old from the show me state has great energy. She has a twin and really just came across as a nice person with a good heart, her intro was tacky but I forgive her.
Chrissa– Her dress blew me away it was gorgeous and then her vibe matched it and I had no doubt she was getting a rose and is one to watch. I think I need to make a trip to Canada because whew.
Erika– Early into the show she was my favorite. His energy wanting to dance with Joey and a great sprit she wasn’t trying too hard it was just her being herself.
Katelyn-She’s hot which never hurts. A radiochemist out of New Mexico who was super chill plus the chem experiment she pulled off was something you don’t see everyday.
Lauren and Ally– The two sisters who chose to announce to everyone they were sisters and Joey figured it out pretty quickly. This is setting up for a fun twist and something I will be keeping an eye on. And to know this isn’t the first time they have dated the same person! Can they get a spinoff?? So messy I love it.
Lea– The mystery card she had didn’t even matter to me. Have you seen her? Talk about smoking! And to react the way she did to having the opportunity to steal a 1-on-1 date from someone shows she isn’t a monster. Throwing it in the fire was so badass and she got my respect for it and Joey was into it her vibe is legit. I will be shocked if she doesn’t make it far.
Daisy- Her story is straight from a Hallmark Channel holiday movie and I fell for it hard. I mean she grew up on a Christmas tree farm and to overcome losing her hearing. I mean ABC come on man I was teary eyed off the jump. And her time with Joey was solid sharing her background and how happy she was for Joey to be on the show. Even the tone of her voice was something you see on th big screen to say she is not a strong contender would be crazy. Her and Lea just seem normal and not going for the over the top performance.
Jen- Super fun and just enjoying life. I think her energy could be the type of challenge Joey is looking for.
The Others:
Even though these two got roses I am not feeling them at all and can’t see how they could win but I understand it is a TV show so you need some ratings.
Maria from Ontario just was not it. I mean when they introduced her to us my first question was do you just not believe in bra’s? And her dress choice was so bad and I was not alone as all of social media was talking about it. Then she said she wasn’t going to kiss Joey because she wanted to leave him wanting to more. Well that lasted about 2 minutes which was a great laugh. Maybe she could get the role in a movies as a villain? And then there is Jess who came onto the show in a boat with a super corny one liner but, what really made me not like her is when she had already had 1 on 1 time and interrupted Taylor. It was bad enough to ask but she just legit steps away and just stands in the shadows. Who are you??? And announce the kiss she had over and over not cool. Without a doubt she is the most hated off the jump.
All in all a solid debut and I will be all in until the final episode. Nice mix of drama and people who met this man for an hour reacting as if they dated for years. One person who I thought stumbled but recovered nicely is Kelsey. What did you think of the debut and did I miss someone you really liked? Tune in next week for my reaction to episode number two of The Bachelor.
