With the bye week behind them the San Fancisco 49ers look to get back on track and also welcome Chase Young to the team. I’m not sure if any team needed a break more than the Niners did, a 3-game losing streak, injures piling up and playing bad football. People questioning EVERYTHING from top to bottom and really putting the term “Niner Faithful” to the test. Now they travel to Jacksonville and take on a team that has been rolling and starting to become who we expected at the start of the year. Maybe a road trip is just what the doctor ordered lets jump into the keys for a win.
Brock Purdy Gets His Boys Back:
They love you when you are on top and love you even more when you fall. To say that QB1 has been struggling lately is an understatement and he needs to step it up NOW. The bad turnovers and missing players on key downs have stacked on top of each other and cost the team games all things he didn’t do last season. Hopefully, we spent the week off resting and watching film after being exposed a bit. Welcome back Deebo Samuel whose shoulder is good enough to suit up and it could not have come sooner. A fresh Deebo plus the type of defense the Jags play openings to make plays should be plenty. The key to the 49ers offense is a strong running game and even with a bum ankle Trent Williams should suit up and give the team everything he has and be a boost to the unit overall. The last four games CMC has been held under 60 yards, Christian McCaffrey has to get going in both the run game and pass game to slow down a solid Jacksonville defense which ranks in the top 10 in both categories. Even with Williams at 60% at best Brock has his weapons back and should line up feeling good about what he has at kickoff.
Week 10 is here.

The Buckeye Boys Back Together:
The 24th ranked pass rush in the NFL got a nice new shiny piece in former Washington Commander Chase Young who makes his 49ers debut today. He is linked back up with his former teammate Nick Bosa. The two hope to create a living hell for opposing QB’s and ease up things for a secondary that has been getting roasted the last few games. If you look at the numbers so far this is setting up to be the most sacked Trevor Lawrence has been in his career and having a rookie at right tackle should make him nervous today. If we can get the San Francisco pass rush of old it should fix a lot of the issues this defense has had so far this season. Jacksonville will shell out a heavy dose of Travis Etienne and our run defense has been BAD and it will be tested without a doubt. Nothing would make Niners fans happier than seeing Lawrence drop back 30 plus times and let the pass rushers tee off.
So Can The 49ers Win?:
This is NOT an easy matchup at all let me be clear. Jacksonville is well coached and has talent on both sides of the ball they just don’t get talked about a lot on a national level. A lot of things need to have been fixed during the bye and players who are back off injury need to have an impact. How if any will have DC Steve Wilks on the sidelines and not up in the booth have? What adjustments did he make to improve the units performance? Can Brock Purdy blockout the noise and focus on playing solid football again? I have faith in these players and coaching staff that things have been addressed and will look better. In a tough test I go 49ers 27-Jacksonville 24 with a late Purdy drive getting them in a spot for the winning field goal. Is it too early to call this a “must win” game? I don’t think it is when Super Bowl is the goal a 4-game losing streak can’t be part of the journey.
