The wait is finally almost over in the NFL and the start of the 2021 season will kick off on September 9 in Tampa Florida.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will start their title defense against America’s football team the Dallas Cowboys.
The game will kick off around 8:20 p.m. ET; live coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. ET with Football Night in America.
This season marks the debut of an enhanced playing structure featuring a 17-game schedule.
Coming into this season, the talk will be all about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are led by Tom Brady who is 44 years of age but he’s showing no sign of slowing down.
Tom Brady will be playing his second season in a Buccaneer’s uniform after bringing a championship to Tampa in his first year.
With the Buccaneers bringing all 22 starters back from last year. How much better will the Buccaneers be this upcoming?
Last year, Brady had to learn a new system with new teammates in Tampa after playing in one system for 20 years in New England.
This upcoming season, Brady will have another year with his high-powered receiving core. Players such as Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski, Scotty Miller, Cameron Brate, Leonard Fournette, Ronald Jones II, and etc.
Last year, with the NFL not having a normal season like the years past. With not having OTA’s and preseason where players get the opportunity to gain some chemistry with each other and the importance of learning your player’s strengths and weaknesses.
Despite, Brady’s greatness and leadership. The Buccaneers still had one of the best defenses coming into this season.
The Buccaneer’s defense is lead by Shaquil Barrett who played a big role in the Buccaneer’s playoff run last year. The Buccaneers also have players such as Lavonte David, Jason Pierre-Paul, Devin White, Ndamukong Suh, and others on their defense who play a huge role in their defense.
With the Buccaneers being the reigning Super Champions and all eyes are going to be on them this year. The Buccaneers will be highly motivated to run it back and be the first time since the 2003-04 New England Patriots to go back-to-back. The Buccaneers have Tom Brady who was also the quarterback of the Patriots when they won back-to-back. [pickup_prop id=”10869″]
Despite, the Buccaneers being one of the top favorites to win the Super Bowl this season. The Dallas Cowboys have a lot to prove this season since last year turned into a disaster after Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury.
The Cowboys have not won or even been to a Super Bowl in 25 years and this off-season Prescott signed a four-year $160 million dollar extension.
The Cowboys are counting on Prescott to have a great season and take that next step as the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Despite, Prescott coming off an injury. The pressure will be on Prescott to have a great season and be the reason why the Cowboys are Super Bowl contenders.
Coming into this season, all the pressure will not be on Prescott because the Cowboys have Ezekiel Elliot who is the highest-paid running back in the NFL.
Elliot is coming off his worst season last year and he needs to have a bounce-back season.
Elliot rushed for 979 yards finishing the season outside the top 10 in rushing yards while also leading the league in fumbles with six for the season.
The Cowboys had their best success when they were a run-first football and Elliot was leading the league in rushing yards and is known as the best running back in the NFL.
Elliot has to be motivated more than ever if he wants to be a deciding factor in the Cowboy’s success this season.
This upcoming season will Ezekiel Elliot have a great season?
Will Dak Prescott live up to his new contract?
Will the Buccaneers be better than they were last year?
Will this season be Tom Brady’s greatest season ever?
Thursday we start to get answers.
