Eagles – Carson Wentz threw a touchdown pass on his first drive in nine months for the Philadelphia Eagles, but the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles needed two defensive stops against Indianapolis Colts in the final 90 seconds to improve their record to 2-1.
Playing in his first game since he tore two ligaments in his left knee last season, Eagles Nation fans welcomed back Wentz with a thunderous standing ovation when he ran out through the tunnel during game introductions.
Wentz’s return sent his back up and last year’s Super Bowl MVP – Nick Foles back to the sidelines.
Giants – Eli Manning threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns and rookie Saquon Barkley added a score as the New York Giants got their first win with a 27-22 victory over the struggling Houston Texans and their record improves to 1-2.
Odell Beckham Jr., had nine receptions for 109 yards and Saquon Barkley finished with 82 yards rushing as the Giants came within one point of equaling their points total from their first two games combined this season.
Redskins – Adrian Peterson rushed for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns, Alex Smith threw for two scores and the Washington Redskins held on for a 31-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers as their record improved to 2-1.
Packers linebacker Clay Matthews was flagged for a roughing the quarterback penalty, which is certain to bring up plenty of questions about what constitutes this kind of penalty on such plays after all games are finished on week three.
Head coach Mike McCarthy threw down a play-calling sheet in frustration and argued with two officials about the call, even chasing one of them along the Green Bay Packer’s sideline.
Cowboys – Dallas offense is in crisis mode. After a lost against the Seattle Seahawks in which their record fell to 1-2.
Dallas is at the bottom of the NFL in several categories, if it weren’t for a blown defensive assignment against the New York Giants, Cowboys could’ve been, easily winless!
After their mistake-filled and self-destruct lost, Jerry Jones has no-one but himself to blame for the team’s current status.
Jones has allowed too many off the field distractions to hurt his team!
