The highly anticipated Marvel series, Secret Invasion finally debuted on Disney+ with a storyline centered around Nick Fury. As Fury and Talos battle Skrulls, one question has been hanging since news of the show broke. What character or characters will make an appearance? This has been the norm for all Marvel shows on Disney+.
It began with Agatha and Monica Rambeau in WandaVision then Captain America as Winter Soldier was his partner and even a few of our favorite female warriors from Wakanka. Then in Loki, we found out that Kang would become the top villain as he made his first appearance in the Season finale. The trend would continue in She-Hulk with an appearance by the Hulk and then with Daredevil.
More features would be Echo and Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye and then Carol Danvers in a brief appearance in Mrs. Marvel. But that leaves open a question of who will make their grand appearance in Secret Invasion.
In the first episode, we had Maria Hill who was excepted and the saw could be said for Rhodey. But with Fury as the leader of the Avengers operations, there’s no telling who will make an appearance.
What Avenger Will Show Up In Secret Invasion
Most fans are hoping for a SHIELD reunion of Phil and Quake. Or, no one will be disappointed if Danvers would make an appearance as her and Fury’s relationship is really the backbone of Secret Invasion.
We can run down the list of hopefuls and while we might hit the nail on the head with one or more, one thing we know for certain is that there will be a special appearance somewhere down the line. While Fury is a central figure and can hold a show on his own, it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t get an appearance from a main Avenger. Cap is old and retired. Iron Man is dead. Thor is still alive and so is Hulk. Spider-Man and Hawkeye could also show their faces.
Marvel has to be smart about this. They just can’t throw anyone into the storyline just to appease fans. It has to be someone that Fury has a history with and makes sense for Secret Invasion. While seeing some of the OGs would be great, it’s clear that Marvel is trying to move the franchise forward. So, seeing someone like Shang-Chi or even a member of the Eternals is a strong possibility. however, they just won’t have the same bond that the OG Avengers have with Fury. But, if he’s in trouble, they will come.
If I was a betting man, and I am (just ask Fanduel), I would put my money on Phil Coulson and Quake to show up for Fury coupled with Captain Marvel. These are the only ones that truly make sense considering the history there.
