Going into week 2 of the NFL season, the Buccaneers will be facing their division rival New Orleans Saints. The Buccaneers will be playing on the road in New Orleans where they have yet at in the regular season since Tom Brady arrived in Tampa.
The Bucs are coming off a (19-3) victory week 1 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
This Sunday will be one of the Buccaneer’s toughest tasks they will be facing all season because the Super Dome is one of the loudest environments to go into.
On the other hand, the New Orleans Saints have a great chance to start the season (2-0) against their division rival Tampa Buccaneers.
After a 17- point comeback on the road against another division rival Atlanta Falcons (27-26) in week 1. The Saints will have their first true test of the season facing Brady and the Buccaneers.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston will have an opportunity to beat his former team as the starting quarterback for the Saints.
Last season, Winston tore his ACL in the first meeting against the Bucs.
” Hopefully, I don’t have to relive that moment again,” said Winston, who missed the last nine games of last season while recovering from reconstructive surgery. ” I’m just pressing and keeping my eyes focused on this week.”
The Saints and the Buccaneers are the two best teams in the NFC South, and both teams want to make a statement.
In Brady’s career with the Buccaneers, the Saints have been the team that’s always gotten the best of him. Brady is (0-4) in regular-season games against New Orleans. Brady has thrown eight interceptions in those losses.
” That’s probably the thing that jumps out the most turnovers,” Brady said. ” They are a very physical team. I think they beat us up physically. It’s a tough, hard-nosed team. They’re very well coached.”
The Saint’s defense confuses Brady more than any other defense in the NFL, and they know they have Brady’s number.
At some point, it seems like Brady has to emerge and get his revenge on the Saints in the record season.
This game is going to come down to the battle of the quarterbacks because Brady has to deal with his tough Saints defense that can get to Brady, and Winston has to deal with the Buccaneers defense that held the Dallas Cowboys to three points last week.
Whichever quarterback plays better on Sunday will most likely win the game, and which team can force more turnovers.
The Buccaneers will also need to establish the run game with running back Leanard Fournette and control the time of possession. Fournette rushed for 127 yards against the Cowboy’s defense, and his play on Sunday will be a huge factor in this ball game.
The Saints, on the other hand, will need a great game from Michael Thomas because Thomas is the one receiver that can beat one-on-one coverage against this Buccaneers’ defense.
Coaching will also play a part in this Sunday’s matchup because Saints head coach Dennis Allen and Buccaneers head Todd Bowles are the two first-year head coaches. Both coaches want to win and improve their record to (2-0) on the season.
This Sunday, will Brady finally get this revenge and get his first regular-season victory over the New Orleans Saints?
Will the Saints continue their dominance over Brady, and this Buccaneers team?
Will coach Todd Bowles get his first career over the Saints as the Buccaneers head coach or will Dennis Allen get his first career win over the Buccaneers as the Saints head coach?
The Saints vs Buccaneers will kick off Sunday at 1:00 P.M. on Fox.
