Fans of the Philadelphia Eagles are considered some of the worst in the NFL. Not just for their actions at games but how they have handled success. Well, let me tell you why we are the way we are. It’s all your fault if we’re being honest.
For decades, we were laughed at and became the punchline for too many jokes. In the NFC East alone, the Philadelphia Eagles were the only team to not win a Super Bowl. The memes were just outright crazy but the truth was the truth. They hadn’t won anything and fans had to live with that. Then it all changed in 2017.
The Philadelphia Eagles grabbed their first-ever SB victory and fans walked around with their chest poked out. Hell, we deserved it. After so many years of being labeled losers, it was time for us to show the world what a grateful fanbase was all about. Did some of it go too far? Maybe so, but what did anyone expect from us? You wanted us to be humble? Hell no.
The Dallas Cowboys haven’t won a championship in 30 years. Are they humble? The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t won a championship in 15 years, what’s humble about them? The New England Patriots have Super Bowls championships coming out their asses and yet, they brag just as loud as anybody. And here we are, celebrating our 2nd one ever and the world expects us to remain quiet. Not going to happen.
We had to turn on the TV and constantly hear about our QB not being like others and that he’s not able to win the big game. Had to hear about our coach being a cancer to his locker room. Signing a RB many thought was past his prime and would get injured. Drafting young players who many thought were not ready and hiring coordinators many felt just wasn’t good enough to get the job done.
And here the Philadelphia Eagles are sitting atop the NFL world, yet again, and you expect the fans to take that and just rejoice in the confines of our living rooms quietly? Hell no. We heard the chatter and we’re letting you know just how wrong you were and how disrespectful it all was. Deal with it.
Cowboys fans love to point out they have 5 SB victories as a franchise. Like dude, most of you weren’t even born yet the last time they won. The Chiefs were going for a three-peat but that was cut short. They were the media darlings for the last 4-5 years. The Eagles did not have a shot supposedly this season either against them and yet, they were blown the f*** out.
You’re mad because the Eagles are getting it done while your team is trying to figure out how to get it done. We earned the right to walk with our chests out. We earned the right to talk shit. We earned the right to brag as long as we want. You did it. Hell, some of your teams are struggling to make the playoffs, yet you still walk around as if your struggles never happened.
We are the champions. In the last 10 seasons, the Eagles have been to 3 Super Bowls and won 2. Only two other teams have had more success, the Patriots and the Chiefs. This is our moment.
We had to take the verbal and mental abuse for decades. Now we’re giving out the mental and verbal abuse and you don’t like it. Tough shit. If you want us to shut up, then beat us.
