The rumors surrounding Lamar Jackson to the Patriots are annoying. They are annoying because Robert Kraft will not pay Lamar Jackson the type of contract he wants. Jackson is looking for the same contract DeShaun Watson got with the Cleveland Browns which was five years and $230 million. That is $46 million a season! If Robert Kraft paid Lamar that type of money that would be more than they paid Tom Brady who won six Super Bowls. They have Mac Jones on a rookie contract which is costing Kraft peanuts. It doesn’t matter what Belichick wants it’s not his call it’s Kraft’s.
Belichick I’m sure is sick of Mac Jones because he spoke about how badly he was placed last year with Patricia and Judge. How he regressed because of the coaching staff and having to force-feed DeVante Parker because Patricia is the one that wanted him. But people have to realize that Belichick isn’t coaching forever and probably won’t be the coach when Mac’s contract is up. I think Bill wants Lamar Jackson because Lamar would play ball with Bill.
Teammates Have Mac Jones’ Back
Do people realize how many friends Mac has in that locker room? Do people realize what it would do to that locker room if they brought in Lamar Jackson? Do People think Bill O’Brien was brought here by Kraft to get Lamar Jackson? The answer to the first question is Mac has a lot of people behind him including Kendrick Bourne, David Andrews, Hunter Henry, Matthew Judon, etc. If they brought Lamar in It would shake Mac’s confidence and you might as well ship him to Vegas cause at least he would have a head coach that believes in him. Lastly, Bill O’Brien was brought here to fix Mac Jones, not sign Lamar Jackson who can’t stay on the field.
People Are Too Spoiled When It Comes To The Patriots
People are way too spoiled around here. People need to realize the Patriots are never getting a Tom Brady quarterback ever again. This thing with the quarterback isn’t going to happen overnight. Mac had a good rookie season and then was set up to fail with the coaching staff in 2022. Now, all of a sudden you want to get rid of him and get Jackson who wants more money than Brady got his entire career with the Patriots. Wake up people it’s not happening get it through your heads!
The Patriots just got JuJu Smith-Shuster and Mike Gesicki do you think that was for Lamar Jackson? Or was that to help Mac with some upgraded talent, granted they could’ve kept Jakobi. No, those two were brought here to work with Mac.
Patriots Are Owned By Robert Kraft Not Bill Belichick
People have to remember that Robert Kraft owns the team, not Bill Belichick. Kraft is the one that sent out the letter to season ticket holders and said they were keeping Jerod Mayo. Kraft was the one who sent out a statement saying they were interviewing candidates for offensive coordinator. He was also the one that made sure Bill Belichick hired Bill O’Brien.
He will also make sure that Mac Jones is the quarterback going into the 2023 season. Sorry, I know it’s a popular take on sports radio to get Lamar Jackson but please get it out of your head. It’s never going to happen.
People Are Worried About The Patriots in the AFC East
I get the AFC East is about to have Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, Tua Tagovailoa, and Mac Jones. However, add Lamar Jackson to that, and who knows if he can stay healthy. Then what you’re going to have Bailey Zappe throwing at a bunch of interceptions? While your first-round pick Mac Jones is lighting it up with a different team like Vegas because Patriots fans wanted to be selfish and sign a quarterback that can’t stay on the field. I don’t think so. Mac is going nowhere for at least two more years whether people like it or not.
