The loss to Miami for the Patriots on Sunday was a tough watch. I’m not going to recap the game because that is boring, but I do have thoughts about the loss. From the broken-down offensive line, not capitalizing on Tua mistakes defensively and offensively. The penalties and not playing Kendrick Bourne for three quarters because of a fist fight during a preseason practice. Like I’ve said before if the offense fails it falls on Belichick for bringing in Matt Patricia and Joe Judge. Looks like Jones missed Josh McDaniels today at times.
Patriots Offense Can’t Do Anything Because Of a Weak Offensive Line
The offensive line is very inconsistent. First drive of the game looked good driving down field. They even got the run game going. But after the INT in the endzone which should’ve been pass interference, the offensive line went to crap. Jones was blindsided on one play that led to a fumble, and Cole Strange the first-round rookie missed a tackle that led to a sack. It looked good on the first drive Jones was able to change the plays and do what he wanted. The only way the Patriots win games is for him to be able to do that consistently.
Tua isn’t good the Patriots Beat themselves
Tua isn’t a good quarterback period. Some of those throws were mediocre at best. The Dolphins don’t have Tyreek Hill they are a worse team. The Patriots should’ve done a better job stopping Tyreek Hill because it was wide open a lot of the time today. The Patriots beat themselves today because the Dolphins wanted to give that game to them. Turnovers and penalties also cost the Patriots today like it did last season. The Patriots lost today to a mediocre quarterback period. That shouldn’t happen all they really had to do was stop their number one receiver.
Bill Belichick needs to get over the Kendrick Bourne fist fight in training camp
Kendrick Bourne being benched for three quarters is complete dog food. There is no reason Bourne who got into a fist fight with the Giants in joint practices three weeks ago should’ve been benched. That is ridiculous. Bill Belichick needs to get over it, it’s the regular season and he obviously is the number one receiver, and you don’t have him out there till there is five minutes left in the game? Only to make a great catch down the sideline then take him back off the field. This isn’t the team for Bourne to be Malcolm Butlered. Bourne should’ve been out there from the beginning of the game.
Patriots Mac Jones has a back injury
Things got worse after the game when reports came out Mac Jones went into the x-ray room at Hard Rock Stadium. He has a back injury and didn’t speak with reporters after the game. That was probably to protect him, so he didn’t have to answer questions about the game and injury. He probably got it from being hit from behind when he was blindsided because of an offensive line breakdown. Between Trent Brown and Isaiah Wynn who don’t like being on the team. Then you have Cole Strange a rookie who is going to make mistakes. Does Belichick want to get his quarterback hurt? Matt Patricia can no way call plays and work with the offensive line too. Bill Belichick can’t do everything, but it will be his fault if this team doesn’t win more than five games.
Let’s hope things turn around quickly for the Patriots but it doesn’t get any easier next week with a visit to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers. Long shot but if Brian Hoyer or Bailey Zappe play your better off watching something else.
