There is no SEC bias in college football. Over the past 15 years, the SEC has been the best football conference in the country. They have won 12 National Championships in 15 years and have put more players in the NFL than any other division. With that said, it is time to put some respect on the PAC-12 Conference. Going into Rivalry Week the PAC-12 has 5 teams ranked in the Top 20.
# 5 USC Trojans:
The Trojans have a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate in quarterback Caleb Williams. Many NFL scouts have already said if he was eligible for the draft, he would be the No.1 Overall pick. Lincoln Riley has turned USC around in less than a year. He is a great recruiter and has become a quarterback Whisperer. He elevated the careers at Oklahoma of Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Jalen Hurts.
#10 Oregon Ducks:
The Ducks lost their opening game to No.1 Georgia 49-3. Since that time, they have been one of the best teams in the country. Bo Nix has revitalized his career after transferring from Auburn. He became the 4th QB in college football history to have 20 passing TDs and 10 rushing TDs through his first 8 games. The other players to achieve this.
- 2016 Lamar Jackson
- 2016 Patrick Mahomes
- 2019 Jalen Hurts
- 2022 Box Nix
Head Coach, Dan Lanning will build a Top 10 powerhouse in Eugene, Oregon.
#12 Washington Huskies:
Kalen DeBoar compiled a record of 67-3 at Sioux Falls. In 5 years, he won 3 NIAI Championships. He is the most underrated unknown coach in college football. What he has done in his first season has been a miracle. He wins everywhere he goes, and I expect him to get elite high school talent to come to Washington because of his style of play. The Huskies should be very good over the next 5 years. Remember his name and his program.
#14 Utah Utes:
This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for head coach Kyle Whittingham, but he has not missed a beat. In 19 years as the Utes coach, he has had 3 losing seasons. If he was in the SEC or Big 10 people would be talking about him as one of the best coaches in the country. No one wants to face Utah in a Bowl game. His team plays hard, disciplined, and never beat themselves. He is an elite coach.
#16 UCLA Bruins:
When Chip Kelly coached the Oregon Ducks, he compiled a record of 46-7. He was 33-3 in the Pac-12 and Oregon was ranked 11th, 2nd, 4th, and 2nd. In 2010, They lost to Cam Newton and Auburn in the National Championship game, 22-19. It has taken a while for Kelly to turn the Bruins around. In his first season, the team finished 3-6. Over the past 2 seasons, UCLA is 16-7. He has three players who will be drafted and playing football at the next level. Running Back Zach Charbonnet and WR Jake Bobo will be starters at the next level and quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson will be on an NFL roster.
The Pac-12 is building momentum with its coaches and nationally recognized players. It is time to put some respect on this conference’s name.
