The 3-2 Colorado Buffaloes hit the road and face Arizona State and look for their first Pac-12 of the season, fresh off last week’s thriller with USC. Even on the road, the fans love coach Prime and his team as this will be a sellout for the SunDevils. Both teams are going through rebuilds but in much different ways and fanfare. This was one of the games that when the schedule came out I checked it off as a win. After the fast start and being ranked for a time it has been two straight losses for CU and a win would go a long way in reaching the goal of a bowl game. With 8 conference losses in a row why not now a chance to end the streak?
Shedeuer Sanders looks to keep putting up great numbers but have it end with a win and it would be good to start fast and not play catchup. The Sun Devils are not a powerhouse on offense so the Buffs should not worried about a blowout. Hit his playmakers in space and put the pressure on the ASU defenders to stop them. Playing again without Travis Hunter look for guys such as Omarion Miller to make the most of his opportunities. I have given up on any hopes of Colorado having any osrt of running game. This ASU defense has been solid versus the pass but allows a lot of points. That shouldn’t stop him from putting up big numbers and rolling on with his stellar season.
The Buffs defense is not anything to be afraid of either ranking 128th in the nation in total defense but has been pretty good in the red zone. I expect this to be another shootout. The game will be won in the pits as both lines fight to see who stands last even with it issues on the defensive side Colorado has so many weapons ASU will have its hands full trying to stop them. You can’t say it often but even with a potential to give up 30 points, the Buffs will find a way to win and end the streak.
So far this season has been a roller coaster full of highs and lows but one thing you can say is this team has competed and even in the Oregon game you can take something positive away from the games. They have not allowed the hype and media attention to take away from what they need to do on the field, this grand experiment of flipping an entire roster on its head. Having so much of its season displayed on social media and using this new age media to its advantage in the recruiting game and building the CU hype train which is NOT slowing down anytime soon.
I see the streak ending and a Colorado win 45-25
