5 Things We Learned About Week 13 In The NFL:
5) Just End The Season:
A few weeks ago, the New York Jets lost to the (0-7) Miami Dolphins, 26-18. On Sunday, The Jets lost to the (0-11) Cincinnati Bengals, 22-6. Miami and Cincy are tanking, they want to lose games. The Jets are trying to win games and they can’t under Adam Gase. Not only should the Jets have fired Gase after this game, they should have made him take a Grey Hound Bus home instead of a plane. Time and time again, the Jets look uninspired, unmotivated and unprepared. That is the fault of their head coach.
4) Is Mike Tomlin the Coach of the Year in the NFL?:
The Pittsburgh Steelers upset the Cleveland Browns, 20-13. The Steelers are in contention to make the playoffs as a wild-card in the AFC. They are 7-5 despite losing Antonio Brown and LeVeon Bell in the off-season. Ben Roethlisberger is out for the season and starting running back, James Connor and starting wide receiver, JuJu Smith-Schuster have missed games due to injuries as well. Tomlin has never had a losing season coaching the Steelers and this could be his best coaching job to date. He is winning without his starting a center and a 4th string quarterback from Samford University.
3) Nick Foles gets benched:
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed quarterback Nick Foles to a 4-year $88 million contract, which including a $25 million signing bonus. Doug Marone benched Foles in the 2nd half of the game on Sunday. The Jags lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 28-11. Marone is looking to blame Foles, but what does the Jacksonville coach offer his team? He was 15-17 in Buffalo, He is 20-23 in Jacksonville. The Jags should look to replace him at the end of the year. It is not working for him, the team or the organization.
2) Did we see a Super Bowl preview?:
The Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers at home, 20-17. Justin Tucker hit the game winning field goal as time expired. Tucker has now made 38 straight field goals in the fourth quarter. Lamar Jackson didn’t have a great game passing the balls but he rushed 16 times for 101 yards and had 2 total touchdowns. The Ravens are now 16-3 with Jackson as their starting quarterback. The 49ers were never outmatched or outclassed in this game. The could have easily won the game with a break here or there. Jimmy Garoppolo was 15-21 for 165 yards. Raheem Mostert had one of the best games of his career. He rushed 19 times for 146 yards. Right now, these are the two best teams in the NFL. No one would be shocked if they both end up in the Super Bowl.
1) Is this finally the year?:
For 10 years we have been hearing that the Patriots dynasty is over. I am not ready to write New England off but they looked old and slow in their loss to Houston, 28-22. For be it from me to criticize the New England coaching staff but Sony Michel had 10 carries on Sunday Night. On any other team, Michel rushes or over 1200 yards every year. Brady is completing 61.5% of his passes. Mitchell Trubinsky, Josh Allen, Mason Rudolph and Kyle Allen have better completion percentages.
Bonus Coverage:
The Green Bay Packers are now 9-3. They have the easiest schedule in the NFL.
Home against the Redskins, Home against the Bears, at the Vikings and Lions. They could go 13-3.
The Carolina Panthers lost to the Washington Redskins, 29-21. This loss could cost Ron Rivera his job.
The Dallas Cowboys haven’t beaten a team with a .500 record all season long.
The Buffalo Bills are 9-3 and no one in outside of Buffalo is paying attention to them.
The Chicago Bears have won 3 out of their last 4 games.
The LA Rams dominated the Cardinals,34-7. This is the team we all thought we would see after their Super Bowl loss.

The Dolphins are the best coached team despite trading away all their talent. Miami has won 3 out of their last 5 games.
