The New York Yankees have had an up and down season to this point in 2020. After starting the season red hot, the Yankees went through an abysmal 5-15 stretch. They’ve been able to bounce back and are currently on a five-game winning streak.
The main issue plaguing the Bombers this season, injuries. The two biggest names on the Injured List Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton have been sidelined since August 26th and August 8th respectively.
They are also joined on the IL by Jonathan Loaisiga, Gio Urshela, and James Paxton. Both Gio and Loaisiga should be activated today before the Yankees play the Blue Jays.
It’s a huge series between the Yankees and Jays as the Bombers enter the series just a half-game (one in the loss column) back of the Blue Jays. The Yankees only have 13 games left entering tonight, seven of which will be against Toronto.
Better news for the Yankees, it appears both Judge and Stanton should be activated by the end of the week as well.

Assuming both Judge and Stanton do get back this week. That will give them right around seven games to try to get their timing down for the playoffs. The Yankees look to be getting healthy at the perfect time.
Yankees Can Capitalize On Remaining Schedule
The Yankees are looking to catapult the Jays into second place in the AL East. Getting both a healthy Judge and Stanton back would help immensely. Those two are intimidating forces in the box and make any lineup tough to pitch around.
With seven games left against the Jays, odds are the winner of the remaining season series will earn an automatic playoff berth. This season the top two teams from each division make it. The final two spots go to the next two best records as Wild Card teams.
