The kings of the NBA are returning to the Queen City for the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend Feb. 15-17, 2019.
The NBA All-Star game was first held in Charlotte in 1991. The 68th annual game will take place at Spectrum Center, home of Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets, on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019.
More than 150 city events are expected during the weekend, including several ticketed and non-ticketed public events at historic Bojangles’ Coliseum and the Charlotte Convention Center.
Charlotte always truly shines when it hosts high-profile events, which provide rich experiences for the visitors and residents. The NBA All-Star Game will grab international attention for the city and generate an estimated $100 million in economic impact.
Previous games have produced as much as 22.3 million television viewers and 1.2 billion social media impressions.
The 2019 NBA All-Star Game will be the biggest sporting event the city of Charlotte has ever hosted. This is truly an international event that will place Charlotte in the global spotlight and showcase the global brand of the NBA. More than 1,800 members of the media from around the world are expected to attend the NBA All-Star Weekend events and the events are expected to bring thousands of visitors to Charlotte. Coverage of the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend activities leading up to Sunday’s game is expected to reach fans in more than 200 countries and territories and be heard in more than 40 different languages.
