So I am sure you all remember my fondness for Apex Legends from my previous articles. Well, I’m back with another one. This time, let’s talk about my personal top three Apex Legends. Please keep in mind that I am a hobby gamer, not a professional, so take this all with a grain of salt.
Taking my top spot is Revenant, the apex predator of Apex Legends. Revenants’ actual name is Kaleb Cross, a hitman who takes the form of a synthetic robot like a character. He was introduced in season four of the game and has rapidly increased in popularity since his most recent re-work.
Revenant has three abilities, as do all legends, a passive, tactical, and ultimate. Here is how he works.
His passive ability is called Assassins Instinct, which acts as a speed boost and will reveal enemies nearby with low health so you can ambush them. It comes in handy when those pesky opponents try to run away! A fan favorite is his tactical ability. The Shadow Pounce, a jump of 20 to 50 meters, is a great way to escape those close calls. Now, my favorite of his abilities would be his ultimate Forged Shadows. This is a shield around your character that blocks damage, but it also helps to recharge your shields as you deal damage. It makes him very handy in close calls, and it’s very overpowered.
I like Revenant because he is fast, sneaky, and resilient. He is an intense threat who can write checks and cash them. Even in the middle of a fight, he can hold his own and pick up others’ slacks. Revenant is a beast, and he gets a 5 out of 5!
At a close second, we have Fuse. Also known as Water Fitzroy Jr., he is an explosives expert who was introduced in season eight. Fuse is actually who I main in this game. He is just a lot easier to play than Revenant.
Mr. Fitzroy’s abilities consist of The Grenadier (passive), The Knuckle Cluster (tactical), and The Motherload (ultimate).
The Grenadier allows Fuse to hold more explosives than any other legend and allows him to fire them farther and faster. The tactical, The Knuckle Cluster, is a series of explosions that last about three seconds and damage any enemy nearby. His finale is The Motherload, a giant ring of fire that he can launch to trap enemies.
Fuse is very beginner-friendly and still packs a punch. One of my favorite ways to win a match using a fuse is to trap them with Motherload, then bombard them with Knuckle Clusters, then run in and finish the fight. Fuse is fantastic for sneak attacks, cover fire, and assists. As much as I love Fuse, he isn’t exactly a fast guy. He runs rather slow, so it can be easy to fall behind teammates, 4.5 out of 5 for him.
In third place, we have Catalyst. Also known as Tressa Crystal Smith, she was introduced in season fifteen, making her a newer legend. She is a defensive class and a good utility character.
Her abilities all center around a gravity-defying fluid she controls. They consist of Piercing Spikes (passive), Barricade (tactical), and Dark Viel (ultimate).
Piercing Spikes is a tar-like patch that is placed on the ground and activated when any enemies are near. Which is a fantastic giveaway that can give your team the upper hand in a battle. Pair that with her barricade, which is meant to seal doors shut so that enemies can’t get in, and you have a perfect character for indoor battle. She not only holds a space well, but she also comes in handy in a push. Her Dark Viel is a fluid like wall that slows down and blinds enemies, acting as a large shield.
Catalyst definitely comes in clutch for up close gameplay, with indicators to warn you about nearby bad guys. She is similar in abilities to another character called Caustic. However, she is much faster and more versatile than he is. She is harder to use for new players and isn’t very helpful in long-range fights, but overall, it is a good addition to the ranks. Let’s give her a 4 out of 5.
So there you go, my favorites. Every gamer has their own play style, and that affects what characters you prefer to play. Maybe this list can help you try something new the next time you game.
Until next time, friends! Enjoy!
