There are duos, groups, and friends who have come into Hip Hop and made a difference then had a falling out. Mase and Cam’ron fit into that category. Let’s think about Andre 3000 and Big Boi of Outkast. Jay Z and Dame Dash. 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks, Ice Cube, and Eazy E. Those are just a few that come to mind rather easily However, I’ll touch upon the maturation of Cam’ron and Mase here.
They both came into the game pretty much the same time. But their friendship was not built on or in Hip Hop. Both are from Harlem, NY, went to the same high school, and even played high school ball together. These two were actually friends before the rap game.
But then money and business came between the two, resulting in them not speaking and throwing shots at each other in diss songs for years. Fast forward, and not only has a great partnership emerged, but a solid friendship was mended.
Their situation is one that we have all been through. You argue and fall out at times with family and close friends. Time heals all wounds but it also takes at least one individual to be the bigger person and admit where they went wrong. That’s what Mase did in 2022 on Gillie and Wallo Million Dollaz Worth Of Game Podcast. Mase explained his side, and it made sense to him and everyone on the ousted looking in. But how would Cam see it?
Cam saw it the same way we and Mase did. They were young and let outside forces get in the middle of a once-tight bond. Cam and Mase talked, and the next thing you know, they now have one of the best Sports Shows on the internet.
Why Did Mase And Cam’ron Squash Their Beef
What’s damaging to some is that many thought that should have been Cam and Jim Jones but they are in the same place that Cam and Mase were once in. While the entire Hip Hop world is still trying to figure out what reason for the Jay and Dame breakup, what’s the real scoop with Outkast, and why 50 is only loyal to Tony Yayo, Cam’ron and Mase are thriving.
If you’re on YouTube and run across a clip of one of their shows, you can see the genuine love for one another. As popular as Drink Champs is, there is no real chemistry between N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN. Yes, they make sense as a unit but watching Cam and Mase do their thing is like watching two friends sit on the stoop, cracking jokes at whoever walks by. It’s an unforced energy there.
It Is What It Is Podcast recently signed a new 8-figure deal with Underdog Sports. That’s groundbreaking due to the fact that just less than 2 years ago, these two weren’t even on speaking terms and now they’re making strides in the business world. The show is unlike anything you have seen in the sports world. It’s a raw take. It’s funny, truthful, and without bias.
This is what can happen when you let all the negative nonsense go and talk things out. Imagine where the state of Hip Hop would be if Tupac and Biggie had that chance. This is why Dame wants a sit down with Jay Z. He knows the potential financial gain he could get. Despite their beef, these two Harlem friends decided their friendship was worth mending and in the end, they were blessed due to their maturation as not only artists but as men.
