The Patriots Vs. Bills game was over after the first drive when Josh Allen went down the field and scored a touchdown. The Patriots defense never really gave Mac Jones a chance all night and allowed 47 points. You’re not going to win games if you’re playing from behind, that is what’s it was last night and throughout the last month of the season. For the first time since 1950, the Patriots didn’t allow the Bills to punt, have a field goal attempt, or turn the ball over. That is a clear indication the defense straight up quit and wanted to leave the game as soon as it started.
Patriots’ Defense Quit Saturday Night In Buffalo
Mac Jones was fired up and trying to take charge. You saw that from the first drive then Brandon Bolden drops a wide-open pass on the Bills 20-yard line. Jones would then throw an interception on a pass going for Nelson Aghlor in the end zone. Let me say this Jones was not the problem last night the rest of the team was. Jones doesn’t have the ability to take charge and have influence yet on the team because this was his rookie season. This isn’t a knock-on Jones it’s a knock on his teammates who see that their quarterback is ready, and they should be too.
Patriots Beat The Bills With Tom Brady
I’m going to get this over with now. Yes, Tom Brady wins that game last night against the Bills. Why? Because guys buy into him on both sides of the ball and know they will find a way to win because Brady is the quarterback. I know some Buccaneers fans and Patriots fans don’t want to hear that but it’s true. Brady is the reason for the majority of the success for the Patriots and the Buccaneers. Why I brought Brady up is because Jones will get the buy-in factor from his teammates it’s just not going to happen overnight.
Mac Jones Has A Bright Future Ahead Of Him
Jones will not be Brady nobody will, but he does need his teammates to buy into him. Patrick Mahomes teammates buy into him, Joe Burrow’s teammates buy into him, etc. Jones with a full offseason and some rest will come back stronger and better. Also, with a year under his belt that ended with a playoff run the team should buy into him more on both sides of the ball and perform better. Mac took accountability for the loss, but it really wasn’t on him.
The Patriots season ended after the bye week. Something happened during or after that didn’t sit right with this team. They get smashed in the mouth by the Colts, Bills, Dolphins, then the Bills again in the playoffs. The Jacksonville win was a fluke against a bad team. The Patriots back into the playoffs and the way they were playing the Patriots were always a one-and-done team.
Again, the loss to the Bills isn’t on Jones the future is bright for him. He really didn’t have a chance playing from behind all the time. The Patriots finished the season 10-8 including this loss on Saturday night. Don’t blame Mac Jones Patriot fans blame the players around him especially on the defense they failed their quarterback.
The defense is a product of daddy appointing his inexperienced son to be the defensive coordinator which he knows NOTHING about. You have Matt Patricia waiting in the wi gs and don’t tap his expert knowledge? Dropped passes on the offense and an inept defensive coordinator. There were your issues in that embarrassing display in Buffalo.
Good article. I completely agree that the defense was embarrassing and the real problem. BUT I do not think Brady being in there at 44 years old wins that one because the Bills were fired up, ready to play at home, and just younger, faster and the better team. I think Brady is the GOAT but surely he is human too as seen in the three super bowl losses he has had. Allen and the Bills players DID make some great plays in their own right.
