The Patriots fell to 1-3 on the season but shouldn’t be hanging their heads. In Tom Brady’s return home Mac Jones came to play and even outplayed Brady on the field. Jones would throw two touchdown passes to both Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry. Brady didn’t throw a touchdown and wasn’t really on his best game in rainy Foxborough. As for Jones, I love the way he stood in the pocket and made some great throws. It seems like all he’s watched is Tom Brady film and it sure is paying off. He’s still learning and growing but even with Brady on a different team, he’s still helping out Mac Jones.
The crowd was really into it. They cheered for Brady before the game and chanted his name. The only ‘boos’ came the first time the Buccaneers took the field. Other than that it was all love from the fans. There was a sign that said ‘Brady’s Corner’ next to the tunnel Brady came out of. After the game, there was an exchange with his former coaches and teammates. Then he waved to the crowd one last time and headed to the tunnel. Bill Belichick also had a private meeting with Brady in the visitor’s locker room after the game. Brady said what was said is private and that there is a lot of misinformation out there about their relationship.
When Brady passed Drew Brees as the All-Time Passing leader he called a timeout. After the game, he was asked about passing it at the place he called home for 20 years.
“Yep. I just think it’s amazing statistic in that so many people can share in it with me. Quarterback doesn’t throw and catch. Quarterback can just throw it. It’s yards. Passing yards have to be caught, so I just hope that everybody who caught passes from me over the years just had a little smile on their face tonight knowing they contributed to a very cool record. There are some people that have kind of preceded it by name, Drew Brees who I look up to, hell of a guy. Peyton Manning who is one of my all-time favorites. Brett Favre, Dan Marino.
But obviously my teammates who caught all these passes over the years, mean an awful lot to me.”
Robert Kraft Wants Brady To Retire A Patriot
Tom Brady is Forever A Patriot hands down. After he is done playing he will come back to New England to sign a one-day contract and retire a Patriot. Robert Kraft said that he’d hope that would be the case on Sunday NFL Countdown.
“I’m always rooting for Tommy, except when he’s playing us,” the Patriots owner told McGinest. “In the end, I hope and believe he’ll come back here and we’ll give him his red jacket, and he’ll retire a Patriot.”
After the game, Tom Brady made a comment to NBC that the Patriots fans will be seeing more of him when he retires.
“When it’s all said and done, and I retire, you know, I’ll be around, and the fans will get a chance to see more of me”
Mac Jones Looked Great In Primetime On Sunday Night Football
The torched has been passed to Mac Jones after last night’s performance. Jones showed a lot of poise and didn’t back down when he was getting crushed. He’s going to be getting better each week I would say that was Jones’ best game of the season so far. It was the biggest regular-season game in sports history and he came to play. He passed for 275 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. The All-Time Passing Leader passed for 269 yards and zero touchdowns and interceptions. Jones should be proud of the way he played and it is all thanks to the coaches and again watching Brady film. This was Jones after the game.
“I think we moved in the right direction. You know, we made plays and played hard the whole game and I turned the ball over. That’s one of the problems, you know, turnovers can kill you, and you know if you turn the ball over – If you don’t turn the ball over, you have a 90-something percent chance to win, and it’s just statistics but I have thought we moved the ball, passing well and the run game needs to improve and we’ll come up with ways to do that. I thought everyone fought really hard. It sucks we lost but yeah, look at it, like you said, that we’re making some progress.”
