What a difference a year makes with the offense. Now that the New England Patriots have a real offensive coordinator in Bill O’Brien Mac Jones and company can actually function. There’s no defensive coordinator as an offensive coordinator or no special teams coach as a quarterback coach. There’s direction and O’Brien has a voice that commands the room. He coaches Mac Jones hard and everyone is on the same page. The offense is now NORMAL.
Mac Jones Is On A Mission To Silence The Noise
Mac Jones was 11 for 11 on 11Vs11 and 7 for 7 on 7Vs7. Perfect also Tyquan Thornton was explosive in Wednesday’s OTA Session. JuJu Smith-Schuster probably still on vacation in Hawaii was not a practice today. Neither was first-round pick Christian Gonzalez. Trent Brown and Matt Judon weren’t at practice either.
There Is No Quarterback Competition Mac Jones Is The Starting Quarterback
Like I’ve been saying for months Mac is the starter and Zappe is the backup. There is no quarterback competition it does not exist. You see what happens when you don’t have two clowns running the offense and you have an operation with structure. Mac Jones completed every pass today he was 16-for-16 and Zappe was 11-of-13 and threw an interception.
Bill Belichick didn’t have anything to do with the offense today it was all run by Bill O’Brien. Good, Belichick should have zero to do with the offense and how it’s run. This is O’Brien’s show he worked at Alabama and knows Mac’s strengths better than Belichick. O’Brien is going to get Mac back on track and today was a good start.
Mac Jones was in New England the whole off-season. Despite what you heard that he didn’t throw with JuJu Smith-Schuster that’s because after Smith-Schuster was here for five minutes signing his contract he went on vacation. He worked with his other teammates that were actually here.
Mac heard the noise this off-season and stayed silent. He said F the noise and went perfect at his first spring practice open to the media. How you like chanting for the fourth-round backup now? Last year throw it away because he was setup Jones was set up to fail. This year is year 2.0 for him with a real offensive coordinator here.
Last year at this time you had Patricia Judge and Belichick running the offense. There was zero connection and communication. You had players in the dog house and holding player-only meetings. This year O’Brien brings command makes things back to normal and much better communication.
Bill O’Brien is not here to build an offense to help Zappe he is here to build an offense that benefits Mac Jones. People need to stop thinking every quarterback that comes in here will be the next Tom Brady. That will never happen get it out of your head. Mac has the ability to win games for the Patriots he proved that his rookie season then had the clown show last year. This year will be like his rookie season and better.
