Mac Jones made an appearance at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Natick on Sunday. He was there for his partnership with NO BULL. I got there around 10 am and the line was pretty long. The people working for Dicks Sporting Goods were handing out wristbands to the first 150 people. I was short of making the cut and had to wait outside until around 11 am. Mac Jones got there around 11 and the meet and greet started at 12 and the line kept moving along pretty fast. I got into the store again at 12:30 and was able to meet and take a picture with Mac.

I did talk to some Patriots fans while waiting in line and all were excited to see what Mac is going to do this season. Having Bill O’Brien as his offensive coordinator is huge after not having the right coaching in 2022. I expect and so do the fans that he will have a much better season much like 2021 with Josh Mcdaniel’s. I think O’Brien will get the most out of Mac maybe even more than Josh did because of his Alabama ties. O’Brien can work to Mac’s strengths and design plays that work best for him.
The first day of off-season workouts begins on Monday, April 17th. Bill O’Brien is expected to speak to the media on Tuesday, April 18th. Mac has been in the building working and getting ready for the season. As Mike Reiss said today in his column for ESPN
Even Robert Kraft wanted to make sure the Patriots hired Bill O’Brien to take over as the offensive coordinator way before last season even ended. Mac Jones spoke earlier this week at an event with the Boys and Girls Club. He spoke to Steve Burton about Bill O’Brien joining the staff.
“I think we’re all excited for this next year, and it just starts with putting your head down and going to work,” Jones said, via Boston.com. “We’ve got a great group of guys, and it’s all about how you come together as a team — players, coaches, everybody. So I’m excited to work with [O’Brien], and I know we all are, and it’s gonna be a great year. We’ve just gotta put the work in.”
Even though there has been a lot of negative around sports talk radio lately on Mac Jones. The support of Jones is pretty solid, and I saw that today. There were at least three lines trying to meet him people had Mac Jones jerseys on and Patriots gear. After your picture was taken NO BULL gives you a hat and a signed picture of Mac Jones throwing a football. I even saw Alabama Jones shirts. I heard there was a person that arrived at Dick’s Sporting Goods at 11 pm Saturday night! There were even people that got to the store very early Sunday morning.
There were a few people that wanted to shop in the store that wondered what was going on. One person even asked who Mac Jones was and then said they were there for T-ball gear. Overall though it was pretty cool to meet him and I expect great things from him in 2023.
