Russell Wilson is free to sign with whatever team he wants to but the Atlanta Falcons must not be one of them. While adding Russell will surely increase their chances of success in 2024, personally, this is not a good move for him or his family. Atlanta may be built for Russell but Wilson is not built for Atlanta at this stage in his personal life.
Wilson is married to singer Ciara, who spent her teenage years in College Park, Georgia, where she honed her singing and dancing skills. She would then go on to blow up in the R&B world and along the way, have a few high-profile relationships. A few to name were with rappers Bow Wow and Future. Both currently reside in Atlanta and for some strange reason, the public just can’t seem to let go of the past.
Ciara has a son with Future which adds more drama to the Ciara and Russell Wilson saga. Wilson is often seen with young Future at events and social media has had a field day trolling the son and his stepfather. Just recently, Young Scooter hit social media stating that Lil Future is not Russell Wilson’s son. While he’s not his biological father, he has taken on the responsibility of raising him.
Young Scooter calls out the NBA & ESPN for calling Baby Future, Russell Wilson’s son. The next post they corrected it by calling him Russell Wilson’s stepson. pic.twitter.com/6wXUsPbchD

But that’s where the issues will arise if Wilson decides to sign with the Atlanta Falcons. When the now-married couple first started dating, Wilson was playing for the Seattle Seahawks. Then he was traded to the Denver Broncos. Both cities are West of Atlanta which kept the family out of anything that could be messy. But if they were to come to Atlanta, the home base for black culture and social media hounds, things could get ugly quickly.
There are still whispers that label Wilson a sell-out and have called Ciara her fair share of inappropriate names. Why are people so intent on trying to tear them down? Atlanta, no, this is not the place for them.
Russell Wilson will be perfect for the Atlanta Falcons on the field with their young receivers and running backs. He could lead them to the NFC South title in 2024. But it’s what’s going to happen off the field that could throw his game off.
Russell Wilson And The Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta is known for its nightlife. This is home to Ciara and she may feel the urge to hit the scene once in a while. Sounds good until the hounds come out. There is no way she will ever be able to do any press events without some reporter or blogger asking about her past. And since this is home to her ex, they are sure to run into one another either by accident or design. This is where the issue will come into play.
Social media will make up rumors. The once private life they shared in Seattle and Denver will be no more. Atlanta has a way of bringing out the good and bad in some and Russell and Ciara will be their latest victims and experiment.
