The Karen Read jury selection began today and it seems that the jury selection is going to take a long time. Judge Cannone said during the broadcast this morning the trial is probably going to be six to eight weeks. That’s when the testimony starts which will probably be towards the end of April beginning of May. It’s going to be hard to get an impartial jury for this case everyone has heard about it and everyone knows there was some sort of corruption.
Jury Selection in the Karen Read Case
Retired FBI agent Michael Easter was going to be brought in by the defense to testify about the initial investigation and how it was handled. However, Judge Cannone denied the defense’s motion to have Easter testify stating the following.
The court cannot find nor has defense counsel cited on Massachusetts case where an expert was permitted to opine on the general competency of a police investigation. The lack of authority suggests that during all the jury trials were the defense has been inadequate police investigation based on [a legal precedent known as] Bowden, expert testimony has not been needed for the jury to be able to evaluate the reliability of the Commonwealth’s case and whether any failures in investigatory steps are sufficient to create a reasonable doubt of the defendant’s guilt.”
In other words, the judge found no inaccuracies with the initial police investigation or she’d let Easter testify. However, that was before the Canton Police Audit came out today which did in fact find inaccurate findings when John O’Keeffe was found on Brian Albert’s lawn. It said the following
Canton Police Audit found the handling of the Karen Read investigation wasn’t good

Photographs were not taken by officers before John O’Keeffe was taken to the hospital. There was not a single recorded interview with a witness. Canton Police used a leaf blower, Red solo cups, and grocery bags to collect the blood of a Boston Police officer on another Boston Police officer’s front lawn.
There wasn’t a police presence at the scene no snow or not that’s no excuse there should’ve been a cop there until the sert team arrived later that afternoon. Instead, it was left open all day long because of a blizzard. I can tell you if John O’Keeffe wasn’t found on another Boston Police officer’s front lawn I’m sure there would’ve been a police presence all day regardless of the snow.
The Audit also found that pictures should’ve been taken of Karen’s car when it was towed from Dighton to Canton. She’s so guilty but no taillight was found by Canton Police, no doorbell camera footage, and not one person in the house that night saw a body on the front lawn with less snow on the ground than at 6am. It’s a complete circus and clown show. The defense should use this at trial when the testimony starts.
