There is no doubt Jakobi Meyers was Mac Jones’ best target. Jakobi always got open when Mac needed him and was a great third-down wide receiver. When nobody else got open Jakobi Meyers was always there making a play. If Jakobi was on the Patriots this season he would’ve gotten the ball with the game on the line against the Eagles in Week 1 and would’ve gotten two feet in bounds. Instead, rookie wide receiver Kayshon Boutte didn’t get both feet in bounds and there was a turnover on downs which led to the Eagles taking the win. Boutte hasn’t been in games since then.
Jakobi Meyers Is A Better Option Over JuJu Smith-Schuster It Isn’t Even Close
With the Patriots playing the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday is a visit with old friends Josh McDaniels and Jimmy Garoppolo. Also, Jakobi Meyers and Brian Hoyer. Sticking to Meyers though I hope he has himself a day on Sunday and scores three touchdowns. I hope Meyers sticks it to Belichick and has a field day Sunday with Jimmy Garoppolo throwing him the ball. It will also be nice to see because Belichick’s pick JuJu Smith-Schuster will continue to be useless in the Patriots offense.
Jakobi Meyers has been a Mac supporter since day one. He always stuck up for Mac even during the hard times last year and defended him with what the offense had to deal with. Belichick didn’t like that and that’s the reason Meyers is on the Raiders. It has zero to do with money when JuJu Smith-Schuster signed the same deal with the Patriots. Here was a tweet from Jakobi Meyers after the Patriots signed JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Here is what pleasant Bill Belichick said Wednesday on Jakobi Meyers when asked why he left in free agency.
And the person you replaced him with can’t even get on the field! Don’t tell me that the Meyers replacement was Mike Gesicki not even close. It’s no wonder the Dolphins didn’t mind losing him in the division. He doesn’t seem too reliable either early on.
I’ve said before when JuJu signed his contract he went on vacation right after while Mac was throwing with teammates at a local high school. Jakobi Meyers would’ve also been there throwing and working out with Mac in the offseason not going on vacation. There was no excuse to not sign Jakobi in the offseason only because he was talking about how bad the offense was in 2022. According to Belichick sticking up for your quarterback while the fans are chanting for the backup is a bad thing.
Wouldn’t you rather have that player who says that than a washed-up veteran who can’t stay on the field? I would. I hope Meyers gets three touchdowns Sunday.
