There has never been an NFL Team to win a Super Bowl in March. But, what the Los Angeles Chargers have done this off-season, could help them reach that goal. The Chargers finished the season 9-8. They lost to the Raiders, 35-32 in the last game of the season. That heartbreaking loss, knocked them out of the playoffs and left the Chargers fan base with a bitter taste in their mouths.
Los Angeles defense was one of the worst in the NFL. They simply could not get off the field.
- They ranked 32nd, in 3rd down %, giving up a first down 49.5% of the time.
- They ranked 29th, giving up 27 points per game.
- They ranked 30th, giving up 138.9 rushing yards per game.
This defense is now scary.
- Joey Bosa: Defensive lineman
- Khalil Mack: Linebacker
- Derwin James: Safety
- JC Jackson: Defensive back
- Asanta Samuel Jr: Defensive back
Since 2020, The Chargers have accumulated 17 interceptions. Jackson has 17 interceptions by himself during that stretch. Brandon Staley is a defensive minded coach. He now has all the talent in the world on defense and offense. Under Quarterback, Justin Herbert this unit was 4th in total offense, 2nd in passing yards, and 5th in points scored. The Chargers are my early favorite to get to the AFC Championship Game. When you look at this team, they have the most talent, on both sides of the ball. The rest of the AFC has just been put on notice.
