No more looking at others’ tickets and wondering what could have been. Like Santa Clause sliding down the chimney while everyone is asleep and bringing gifts, Fanduel Sportsbook did the same overnight for all gambling residents of NY. KBO is officially live in the state to bet on. But why is that so huge?
To begin, let’s do a quick breakdown of what KBO is for those who may not know. KBO stands for “Korean Baseball Organization. It’s home to just 10 teams where they each play 144 games per season. In Major League Baseball, they play 162 with triple the number of teams. For gamblers, this is the place to be. But for some reason, Fanduel Sportsbook and the other sportsbooks in NY were not allowed to give us this option.
Well, that’s no longer the case. As of early this morning, KBO is now live and ready to go in the state of NY. Personally, this was a great move. Although we could argue it’s a bit late as teams have already completed a large portion of their regular season schedule, it’s still something to look forward to.
KBO Is The Place To Be
I’m in a few Sports Betting Groups on Facebook and I admit, I would get jealous looking at those KBO tickets, knowing that I wasn’t allowed to place those same bets. What stands out when it comes to KBO betting and the difference with MLB is that for KBO, you’re mostly betting on the Spread, Moneyline, and Total Runs. Whereas with MLB, you can bet on Hits, Runs, RBIs, and things of that nature. But still, KBO is not a sport you want to ignore for a gambler.
What you must be careful about is being aware of their start time. In our groups, we always say “KNO for Breakfast.” The reason is, KBO normally starts around 5 am. So, for those who like to place their best right before the games start as we like to do with MLB, NBA, NFL, and others, KBO offers a new challenge. Now, you can set the lineups before you head to sleep the night before. If you are a “Live” gambler, then by the time you awake, the games could still be on (depending on how late you sleep).
With Fanduel taking its sweet time offering this option, it forced residents of NY to look elsewhere to bet on KBO. No real idea why NY had to wait on this but I for one am excited that we can finally add this to our betting slips.
