Dwayne Johnson buying the XFL – and everyone making Ballers jokes, does make sense because this is certainly something that would have happened on his show, Ballers.
The Rock is a former WWE Star, former University Miami football player, actor, producer, and also a big fan of the UFC.
He personally walked inside the octagon and put the BMF Belt on Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, and was heavily involved throughout the entire event held in New York City leading up to the main event on Fight Night.
Jorge Masvidal beat Nate Diaz in the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden on November 2019 and The Rock placed the BMF Belt around his weight.
Dwayne Johnson is on the A-List celebrities, he is definitely not a one Trick Pony.
Details of the deal are as follow:
Johnson teamed up with Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital to buy the league just hours before a planned auction was scheduled to begin and they paid $15 million, splitting it evenly.
Johnson’s business partner, Dany Garcia, who is also his ex-wife, will be an equal stakeholder with him.
Frankly the whole damn thing does feel like the Hollywood budget for upcoming episodes of Ballers and we love it!
The Rock is one Hell of a personality and his presence as part owner of The XFL will most definitely attract other major celebrities to the venture.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, with aid of RedBird Capital Partners, buys XFL out of bankruptcy for $15 million, cuts short planned auction. Vince McMahon had put more than $200 million of his own money into the venture before it sank.
