Succeeding in the entertainment world is all about being a jack of all trades. The more you can do, the busier you stay. For this feature, I didn’t interview someone who is JUST an athlete. She is an actress, dancer, singer and lifts a few weights on the side. This super talented butt-kicking young lady is Brazilian born actress Chrysti Ane who you may have seen on Nickelodeon. That’s right! She plays Sarah the Pink Ranger, in Power Rangers Ninja Steel.
Born in beautiful Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Chrysti is a name and face you will be seeing more of as her talents take her to the top. So let’s get to know a little bit about Chrysti!
JC: Singing, dancing, acting and kicking butt is there anything you don’t do?
CA: I can’t go a day without my coffee haha! But honestly, the things I do are my passion! I’m so lucky to be able to do what I do as a career.
JC: First off MAJOR props and congrats on landing the role of the Pink Ranger for Power Ranger Ninja Steel! What was the process like?
CA: The process was pretty intense. A lot of auditions, a lot of stunt prep work, and moving to a different country..but it was easily one of the best experiences of my life. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.
JC: How did you prepare for the role, especially all the fight scenes?
CA: Having a dance background definitely helped. I’ve been dancing since I was three years old, so it was easy for me to catch on choreography and I have a pretty good understanding of my body and movements. When the cast and I first arrived in New Zealand we had to do a two-week intensive with stunt trainers for three hours every day
JC: What sports did you play growing up?
CA: Growing up I was kind of all over the place ..I tried soccer, tennis, I tried horseback riding, haha and swimming I literally did everything then got bored and ask my mom to do something haha! Then I tried dance/musical theater and found my niche. I instantly fell in love.
JC: Have you always been into fitness? And what is a typical workout for you?
CA: My parents were always very fit people so I was used to having a “fitness lifestyle” growing up. Now I just do it a little more intensely, and I enjoy it very much. I have different days set aside for different muscle groups/ workouts. I guess a typical day of working out for me would be focusing on 1 or 2 major muscle groups.
JC: Would you say dance was your first love?
CA: Dance was 100% what got me started in my career. The second I started dancing I knew it was going to be a part of my life forever. Definitely my first love.
JC: All work and no play is boring. What do you do on off days for fun/relax?
CA: I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie believe it or not, so a fun day for me would be anything from dirtbike riding to snowboarding to motorcycle rides, roller coasters, spontaneous road trips. But if we’re relaxing then a beach does the job!
JC: Who are some of the people you look up to?
CA: This is going to be really cheesy but the person I look up to most in this world is my mom. She is literally the perfect human being and the best role model a daughter could have.
JC: What do you have coming up for 2017?
CA: That is the burning question!! I don’t know what’s next I just hope life takes me on another epic adventure (:
JC: What songs are getting the must play right now from you?
CA: I just got back from New Zealand a few weeks ago so I’m still playing catch up on the radio, but I really like Halsey’s song Now or Never!
Chrysti is very talented and the world can never have enough good people with a free spirit. One of the best parts of the Q&A was not having to speak Portuguese Lord knows I’m a little rusty. My thanks to Chrysti for her time. Keep up with her on her social media accounts. Thanks to Shaun Poh Photography for the wonderful pictures
