Fanduel may be the most popular Sportsbook, but DraftKings is killing them when it comes to MLB betting. Having popularity is cool and all but what about providing the bettors with better user experience? As it stands now, Fanduel is being crushed by DraftKings.
First, they both have similar options as far as Hits, Total Bases, Home Runs, and RBIs go. But where DraftKings sets itself apart from the competition is when you get to the other options.
Fanduel has changed their No First Home Run bet to include Teams where the option was just No Home Run for the entire game. Now you can bet that the Philadelphia Phillies won’t hit a Home Run instead of having to choose both the Phillies and the New York Yankees. That was a great addition. However, it’s still not enough to overtake what DraftKings offers on the backside.
For starters, they have an option where you can bet how many runs both teams will score. For instance, you can place a bet that the same Phillies and Yankees will both score 2 runs. Seems simple, right? But trust me, that’s an easy bet to lose. Fanduel has something similar but you have to choose Alternate Total Runs and it just takes too much time whereas DraftKings gives you a quicker option.
Then you can do some great things with Hitters like bet on Strikeouts. Not how many the Pitchers will get but how many times a batter will strike out. It will have you on the edge of your seat as you watch each at-bat of theirs closely.
Is DraftKings Better Than Fanduel
DraftKings goes a bit farther with the Innings option. You can place a bet on the First 3 innings or 5 and then 7. How many runs would be scored or who will win those innings, and whatnot. They just provide a ton of options.
But hands down, my favorite betting option on DraftKings has to be the Hits+Runs+RBIs. No idea why Fanduel has not adopted that option yet. The odds are good and the risk are better than trying to pick a specific player to his a Home Run. Think about that there. Let’s say you chose Bryce Harper at -1.5 on Hits+Runs+RBIs.
Harper is a dangerous player batting 3rd in a lineup that features Kyle Schwarber and Trae Turner ahead of him. With one swing of the bat, Harper can bring home either player which gives him his Hit and RBI and now he has reached his odds. Bet won. And don’t forget you can Parlay a few other players from other teams and try to break the bank.
No matter what, this is still gambling and things may not go your way. But if you want to place MLB odds with a sportsbook, DraftKings is the place to do it. While their promos and Free Bets are not as good as Fanduel’s (more on that later) their betting options are the best, especially when it comes to MLB.
