So, a little over a week ago the hubby and I chose Dave and Busters’ newest location for our weekly date night. And I am here to give you the scoop on which location I prefer and why.
First, let’s talk about size and vibe. The D&B’s in C. Springs is a 20,000 square foot space, while Denver is 3x that size at 60,000 square feet. Even with the size difference, both have a similar feel to them, think neon colors, old pop music blasting, and very high energy. Denver is so large that it is overwhelming for sure. The smaller space of the southern location feels less intense. The smaller space is about 25% sports bar, and the other 75% is full of games. We didn’t try the food this time as we ate out beforehand, so I can’t provide any insight there.
Both have tons of classic and new arcade games, from racing and claw games to ski ball and virtual reality games. There are options for everyone. Unlike Denver where their machines are often out of order, that wasn’t an issue at this new place! Also, Denver is usually packed to the gills, and it seems as though the Springs location is still something of a hidden gem. Maybe that’s because having 2 locations has helped divide up the guest load? Or maybe it’s because the new D&B’s is tucked away off of Briargate Boulevard, whereas the Denver store is right off of the main highway? I’m not too sure about that.
Denver has an average rating of 4.1 on Google, with mentions of good food, friendly staff, and nice prizes being some of the positive reviews. But on the other hand, it seems to lose points for being VERY crowded and not very clean or well kept. Both of which I can confirm personally. It feels very claustrophobic and often lacks cleanliness.
C. Springs has a 3.8 average rating on Google, but it has only been open for a few months, so keep that in mind. Amongst the good reviews were things like great happy hour specials and brand-new games, and it is way less crowded than Denver. The negatives, however, included rude staff, slow service in the sports bar, and that the whole place being very loud. While I do agree it is loud, it’s an arcade, with kids, and loud music, so it is to be expected. I can’t speak on the food service side this time, but I will for sure try the food next time for you guys!
My vote in the end is for Colorado Springs location. It is super close to home and a great time to be had. I really want to go back for Tuesday Trivia Night! D&B’s was a great choice for our date night , we had a blast, and we will for sure be back soon!
Until next time, friends!
