Dana White: Shame On You and The UFC

I must preface this article by stating I am a big fan of the UFC. I have also taken numerous mixed marital arts classes in my life-time.

The NBA, MLB, XFL and NHL have all suspended their seasons because of the Corona Virus. Golf, NASCAR and the WWE have suspended events as well.

Dana White is not “Buying” into the Panic.

The UFC proceeded with its plans to hold a fan-free event Saturday night in Brasilia, Brazil. Next weekend, the promotion still plans to stage a full fight card with fans inside London’s O2 Arena.

Dana White and Donald Trump are long-time friends and business associates.

“I talked to the president and the vice president about this,” White said on ESPN, his promotion’s broadcast partner. “They’re taking this very serious. They’re saying, “Be cautious, be careful, but live your life and stop panicking. Everybody is panicking, and instead of panicking, we’re actually getting out there and working with doctors and health officials and the government to figure out how we can keep the sport safe and how we can continue to put on events.”

Mr. White, is listening to Donald Trump, his longtime buddy. According to the Washington Post fact checkers, as of January, the man in the White house has lied 16,241 times. Trump is a pathological liar. This is who the UFC is listening to? White is now saying that he knows more than the every other sports organizations included Trump’s other buddy, WWE owner, Vince McMahon?

Just a reminder, two weeks ago at a rally, Trump called the Corona Virus a hoax. He told reporters that 15 people were infected and it will be down to zero soon.

The UFC will hold fights in Brazil and Las Vegas with no fans.

Dana White is putting his fighters and their entire team, who travel with them, at risk. White has spent his whole career trying to convince fans that the UFC is safer than boxing. If he really cared about his fighters, he would cancel all events. White is just another hypocritical, con man, running a sports organization. His fighters deserve better. Lives could be lost and he is laughing all the way to the bank.
