You didn’t believe Jerry Jones when he announced he was going “All In” did you? Of course, many folks did believe the word salad courtesy of Jerry Jones. He said those two words at the Senior Bowl and fans mistakingly thought it meant they would be highly active in free agency.
However, being a much longer fan of the Dallas Cowboys yes I have been a fan longer than most since I recall every one of the 8 Super Bowl teams I knew damn well that he was yet again boosting “The Brand” that is the Dallas Cowboys under Jerry Jones.
Dallas Cowboys Free Agency
There was ZERO that happened for Dallas Cowboys fans on day one of free agency. Day two did see the team re-sign long snapper, Trent Seig so right after that happened Jerry and his idiot offspring Stephen (The real guy in charge) went back to sleep on the yacht they are currently vacationing on.
Of course, the excuse is already locked and loaded for the two gentlemen (I use that term very loosely) You see for Stephen Jones he will say the Dallas Cowboys need to re-sign Dak Prescott Ceedee Lamb, and Micah Parsons to new deals. That’s why they are on vacation instead of in the boardroom re-signing Dak Prescott to a new deal.
Of course, every Cowboys Nation fan out there is ballistic as the Dallas Cowboys have not done that piece of business as of yet. Oh, and they don’t need to do a deal with Lamb or Parsons this off-season. That’s where Jerry Jones is so wrong in saying the Dallas Cowboys were going “All In.”
Dak Prescott can leave the Dallas Cowboys next season if they don’t extend his contract. Now they can lower his cap hit by giving him a bonus but it still means that Dak Prescott and his agent Todd France are in the driver’s seat yet again.
Anyone who wants to see the Dallas Cowboys crumble in a season much like every member of TEAM NBS Media outside of myself is about to be a very happy bunch. Stephen A Smith will be in seventh heaven when Dak Prescott leaves the Dallas Cowboys.
It boggles my mind how Stephen Jones failed at contract negotiations over and over again. It was Stephen Jones who signed the Ezekiel Elliott contract and it was Stephen who failed so miserably in the last contract negotiation with Dak Prescott. Instead of being in a better situation with Dak Prescott he and his agent can manhandle any deal they want.
So that is why the Dallas Cowboys haven’t signed Derrick Henry or Aaron Jones or any other running back. Nor have they signed any linebacker or defensive tackle. It’s why Stephon Gilmore hasn’t been re-signed nor has Jourdan Lewis. Currently, fans of the Dallas Cowboys are looking at Trevon Diggs (ACL Surgery) and Daron Bland manning the boundary corner positions with very little behind them.
Your running back room consists of Deuce Vaughn and nothing else. The Cowboys weren’t keen on paying Zach Moss 4 million a season. That’s been the one name the Cowboys were interested in so far.
This killed the Dallas Cowboys in the 90s when free agency began. They pushed off Dak Prescott’s full market value by reducing his cap hit. The time to pay the piper is coming. The Dallas Cowboys simply need to stop re-signing the “Guys They Love” Michael Gallup and Terence Steele both being given five-year deals after having ACL surgery were two huge mistakes by the Jones family.
Go ahead and scream into the air all you want Cowboys Nation. Until you stop listening to Jerry Jones y’all are in for being taken for the ride over and over again.
This old Cowboys fan knew better.
