Dallas Cowboys host the Miami Dolphins aka Tanking for Tua in week three. This does not figure to be a pretty match up at all. The 2-0 Cowboys are on an early season roll averaging 33 points a game, while the Dolphins are coming off being shutout 43-0 by the defending Super Bowl champions. Miami has been dumping their few name players and are definitely in the running to equal the Lions and Browns 0-16 seasons.
Keys to the game:
Show up ready to work. Never mind the record of your opponent, come out from the opening kickoff and get your job’s done. Don’t play down to the opponent. Taking an opponent lightly is never a good thing.
The Cowboys have lost one weapon on offense for up to a month. Michael Gallup, has a meniscus tear. Tough beak for the sophomore receiver who had been brilliant so far. Delvin Smith is the beneficiary of Gallup’s tough luck. Since the Dolphins traded their one good secondary player this week, look for an aerial assault from Prescott to every receiver on Sunday. This should be a one half game for most of the starters. The one guy who should really feast upon the Dolphin’s will be Elliott. Feed Zeke early and often, get his work done, and then get Tony Pollard as much work as possible.
As important as seeing the offense do it’s work, the Cowboys defense has a huge opportunity to rack up big time numbers against a completely anemic Dolphins offense. They are not running the ball well at all, then because they trail early and by plenty, they have to become one dimensional. Show either quarterback Fitzpatrick or Rosen no mercy. Lawrence and the rest of the line can pad their sack numbers. The starters are in the same boat as the offense, if they get their job done, it will be a one half game for most of them.
Simply put folks, this is a game the Cowboys must be merciless. Opportunities like this must not be passed up. Do your damage, get a rest, and come out of the game with no injuries. There’s a week 4 road game test awaiting in New Orleans.
Prediction: Cowboys 44 Dolphins 3
