LA Rams vs Dallas Cowboys
Hated being right about last Thursday nights game against the Bears, well here’s another dose of reality Cowboys fans. The Rams are going to come to town and beat the Cowboys, here’s why.
The Rams are playing for their playoff lives, the Cowboys refuse to do so. They have had three weeks to put a stranglehold on the NFC Least, and have failed each time. Meanwhile, the Rams are refocused and doing what they need to do in order to win games. They lead the league in wide receiver rushing attempts. That’s called creativity Jason, Kellen, and the rest of the Dallas coaches. It’s getting players buying into doing whatever it takes to win games. They definitely suffered a Super Bowl hangover in Los Angeles, but have found a cure. It was evident as the Rams beat up a very good Seahawks team that they were having fun. See any Cowboys players having fun lately?
Don’t look now but one Todd Gurley is being used heavily lately as well. The passing attempts are way down for Goff the last few games. He’s still far from worthy of that massive contract, but it’s working for them as a team. Gurley absolutely thrashed the Cowboys defense in last year’s playoff game. By all indications, it’s about to happen again. If there’s an offense that has a multitude of targets to worry about it’s the Rams. They are using Higby, Woods, Kupp etc… to spread the workload in their passing game. If Goff stays as accurate as he was against Seattle, they can easily keep the Cowboys defense on their heels all afternoon.
Defensively if you have Aaron Donald, you already have a built-in advantage against any offense. Did you notice the double and triple teams Seattle was using against him? That left others open to attack Wilson, to the tune of 5 sacks. Now Dak is nowhere near as elusive as Wilson is, so it won’t be a shock if Prescott is under immense pressure and hurried often by the Rams. Here’s where the failure to adjust is going to hurt the Cowboys yet again. We know Prescott can run the damn ball. We don’t see it happen at the right times, however. I don’t see the coaches saying okay there coming for him, let Prescott do what he did as a rookie, and use his legs. Remind you of what I said about Trubisky folks? He thrashed the Cowboys by running on them.
The bottom line here is simple enough. You have a team coming to Dallas that knows exactly the weaknesses of the Cowboys. They will exploit each one of them. At the same time, you have a group of players that have had chance after chance to be something, who end up coming up short. The multitude of issues off the field has taken a toll. They have yet to show me they can set aside everything and win games. With that said the Rams will beat the Cowboys 34-24 on Sunday afternoon.
