Kahleah Copper has garnered her career-first player of the week honors, per the WNBA earlier this morning.
Her efforts last week, through two games, saw her follow up a season-high of 23 points in a win vs Atlanta, with a career-high of 28 points on the road in a loss vs Indiana.
A 25.5 points per game mark of last week also included her very first back-to-back 20+ point outings, and her highest two-game point total (51) further validating just how unique of a space she’s presently operating in.
Offensively, her full blend and dynamic in generating paint touches and rim pressure, spacing and knocking down three-point attempts, as well as getting to the free throw line, is on full display.
We’ve seen a lot of her “leaving it” from deep as she connects, flexing following and-1’s, and display the signature hop and trot in rhythm confidence as she changes ends following big-time buckets.
She now presently is averaging a career-best in points (15.0), rebounds (5.7), player efficiency rating (14.9), free throw makes and attempts (3.1-3.9), three-point makes attempts (1.4-3.5), and corner three-point percentage (70%).
