Kurt Busch (-115) > Erik Jones – Over the past four Coke 600’s Busch has an average finish of 11.7. He also has had a top ten finish in three of the last four Coke 600’s. While Jones has average coke 600 finish of 22 including a dead-last finish last year. While I don’t think Jones will finish dead last again I do believe Busch bounces back from a disappointing 600 last year. I’ll take Bush in this matchup and get back to the top ten forum.
Aric Almirola (-115) > Tyler Reddick – Almirola has an average finish of 15.2 in the last four Coke 600’s including an 11th place finish in 2019 and 13th in 2018. Rookie Tyler Reddick ran really well at the two Darlington races including 7th place finish Sunday and finishing 13th on Wednesday. He has shown he can run the big boys. However, I am going to roll with the veteran Almirola in this match up.
Martin Truex Jr (-135) > Alex Bowman – Truex jr. has been the most dominant driver at the Coke 600. He has won this event two of the last four years (2019 and 2016). He has finished in the top five in seven 0f the eight races at Charlotte. In that span he has an average finish of 2.5 at the 600, the best average in NASCAR. Bowman has raced in the 600 twice in his career finishing 7th in 2019 and 13th in 2018. I am going to eat the juice with Truex in this match up.
Jimmie Johnson (-105) > Ryan Blaney – Johnson over the past five 600’s has an average finish of 6.8 including a win in 2014. Johnson also has a top-five finish in three of the last five 600’s and also has a top ten finish at Charlotte. Four of the last five 600’s. Blaney on the other hand has an average finish of 23.2 for the 600. Blaney has only cracked the top 15 once in his career at the 600. I’m going to go with Johnson here at the short price.
Joe Gibbs car wins Coca Cola 600 (+195) – Over the past six Coca Cola 600’s Joe Gibbs has dominated in Charlotte. Gibbs’ cars have won four of the past six Coke 600’s. Gibbs has already notched two wins in the 2020 short season. I’ll take my chances with the plus money on at least Martin Truex, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, or Erick Jones gets the win Sunday.
Kenseth to win Coca Cola 600 +5000 – One driver I am going to throw some pizza money to win outright is Matt Kenseth at +5000. I think it is a great value bet. Over his last five 600’s at Charlotte he has four top 10’s and three top 5’s.
