Cobra Kai has finally started since the two strikes that shut down Hollywood. What has happened in the final season hasn’t shocked me so far. Seeing Tory Nichols join John Creese and being willing to fight Miyago Do at the Seikai Taikai tournament wasn’t a surprise. She is seeing her mother pass away, and the usual interference from Daniel and Amanda Larusso prevents Tory from staying with Miyago Do. Many “fans” are already sick to death of the whole John Creese saga continuing; sorry, folks, it was inevitable.
Meanwhile, with the Miyago Do kids, Robbie Keene defeats Miguel and will be the captain. While Sam Larruso was the easy choice to be the female captain, I won’t be shocked if something makes Devon Lee, portrayed masterfully by Oona O’Brien, the eventual champion on the ladies’ side. Devon made the final group by making Kenny Payne have a little digestive issue, leading to another Kenny Payne versus Anthony Larusso battle since Kenny is convinced Anthony put laxatives in his water.
Let’s consider what might happen in November when the series starts again.
Daniel versus Johnny
Daniel Larruso was shocked when he found a new box buried by Mr. Miyagi. The box’s contents prove that Miyago fought in the Seikai Taikai tournament and discovered what might be a very uncomfortable truth about Mr. Miyaga. Miyagi stole an expensive piece of jewelry and lied about his birth year.
This leaves Daniel with a colossal impasse, and he is perturbed about his Sensei, and what lies ahead for Daniel Larusso remains to be seen. As you all know, when you read my previous article regarding Cobra Kai, Daniel Larusso was never a hero to me.
Johhny Lawrence, meanwhile, has secured a job with Larusso Motors as he wants to have a real life with Carmen and their soon-to-be-born daughter. That was a great moment when Daniel Larusso was covered in pink when they revealed the child’s gender.
Johnny Lawrence showed himself as a massive advocate for Devon Lee. He even fought Mike Barnes and convinced the “Bad Boy” of the karate world to keep a closer eye on Devon Lee. Johnny also attempts to get Tory and Sam to fight more with each other when the two develop a relationship.
While proud of Robbie for becoming the captain, Miyago also sees his love for Miguel when he loses to Robbie.
Johnny Lawrence has always been the guy I side with. Watching Cobra Kai has been a pleasure because I have seen his growth. William Zabka has been so good in this series, and if there’s a new Karate Kid movie, I pray he takes over from Daniel Larusso.
Where Is Chozen?
Chozen Taguchi isn’t with the Miyagi Do team at the Seikai Taikai tournament. I wonder what happened to him. Chozen has been lost so far this season because he is lovelorn for Kumiko, and after his drunken phone call to her, she never responded.
I hope he finds his love and reappears this season.
Seikai Taikai
This tournament will be the end and be all to Cobra Kai. While the series won’t end until 2025, we shall see massive fighting at the game. Who brings their A-game remains to be seen.
How John Creese interferes with Miyago Do karate will still be fun to watch for me. Does his tough-as-nails competitors beat up on Hawk, Devon, Miguel, Demetri, and Sam?
This tournament likely comes down to Robbie Keene beating Brandon H Lee, the new tough guy for the Da-eun team. Kwan will be one tough guy to defeat.
For the women’s side, I still believe Devon Lee ends up being a huge key, but we all know Sam Larusso will face Tory Nichols.
