The One Chicago shows are great for character development but they also add that certain spice of drama. Dating back to Season 10 of Chicago Fire, we were introduced to a female firefighter named Emma Jacobs who was assigned to House 51. And from the start, she was nothing but trouble. After catching wind of Violet’s and Chief Hawkins’ relationship, Emma went out of her way to take not only Hawkins down, but destroy whatever unity House 51 had.
Before things could get out of hand, Emma did the unthinkable and abandoned her crew, thus being forced to a new job within the CFD. Viewers thought she was gone for good, just another character written off the show. But not so fast. Chicago Fire doesn’t give up on drama that easily.
After Hawkins’ death, Emma sprung back up at House 51 but in her eyes, she was doing the hours a favor. Despite Emma’s supposed act of kindness towards her former House, Violet still felt the need to confront Emma and from there, the gloves were off. Was Violet right? In all fairness, the hatred she had for Emma was well-justified but maybe she could have left it alone. But she didn’t. All she did was piss Emma off more and Violet should have known what was to come.
Will Emma Jacobs Return To Chicago Fire?
When Violet finally did get the proof she needed to take to the higher-ups at CFD, she made her move. In the process. we’re led to believe that Emma may have lost her job or maybe she was knocked down a peg in the department. The outcome is still unknown, but what we do know, is that Emma may not be done with her revenge tour just that easily.
This could be reminiscent of the early war that went on between Matt and Voight in Season 1 of Chicago Fire where Matt refused to turn his head the other way when Justin got into trouble and Voight tried his best to break Matt. Emma is not going away that easily. Violet played her hand and if Emma did lose her job, then she has nothing else to lose and will come gunning for Violet on a personal level.
Will the writers bring Emma back to Chicago Fire? I hope so because this is a storyline that is worth taking a closer look at and given more life than just a cameo for 2 episodes.
