I am 96-44 picking NFL games on The Full Monte Sports Show.
3-7 Chicago Bears at the 4-6 Atlanta Falcons:
Time: 1:00 PM.
TV: Fox.
Betting line: Falcons are favored by 3 points.
#DaBears:
The Chicago Bears are 3-7 but they have become much watch TV with Justin Fields. He is the most exciting quarterback in the NFL. Fields has rushed for 178 and 147 yards over the past two games and on the season, he has 749 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns. He is completing 58% of his passes but his strength is in his legs. The Bears are No.1 in the NFL averaging 201 rushing yards per game and are 7th in 3rd down conversions.
Over the past 2 seasons, Chicago has traded away their best defensive players and it shows.
They are 25th in the NFL giving, up 24.7 points per contest.
#DirtyBirds:
I have watched every game by the Atlanta Falcons, and I still can’t tell if they are overachieving or underachieving. I had them winning 8 games in pre-season and they are on pace to do that but this team is beyond inconsistent. There are times when Atlanta looks like a playoff unit and other times they look like a bad high school team.
Marcus Mariota has talent around him, but he has been hot and cold all year long. He is completing 61% of his passes, has 12 passing touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
He can run with any quarterback in the NFL but is reluctant to do it at times.
Drake London leads the team with 38 receptions and Kyle Pitts has 25 catches for 313 yards. The Falcons want to run the ball for 4 quarters. Cordarrelle Patterson and Tyler Allgeier have been splitting time in the backfield.
Prediction:
Both teams want to ground and pound but something has got to give here. The Falcons are last in pass defense giving up 280 yards to opposing quarterbacks. The Bears should be able to exploit this weakness throughout the game. This Matchup is a toss up but look for Atlanta, who is coming off a bye week, to be the fresher team in the 2nd half. I expect them to have a late interception to seal the victory.
Falcons 31… Bears…27
