Coming off another great season in year 20, LeBron James is looking to continue his stellar play and be one of the reasons why the Los Angeles Lakers compete for a championship.
Last season, James averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game; in the history of the NBA, there has never been a player to play this great for 20 years in counting.
LeBron James is aging like fine wine, and Father Time has yet to find James because he’s still playing like a top 10 player in the NBA going into year 21.
Every game LeBron plays, he’s making history, and as a basketball fan of the sport, it’s remarkable to see.
This past season, the Lakers got to the Western Conference finals and put themselves in a position to advance to the NBA finals.
Going into LeBron’s 21 years, the Lakers may have the best off-season any team could have; the LA Lakers added more depth and more perimeter shooting.
Every championship team LeBron has played on has always had perimeter shooting; James gets the best out of three-point shooters.
The Los Angeles Lakers signed players such as Gabe Vincent, Cam Reddish, Taurean Prince, and Jaxon Hayes.
The Lakers already have Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, who proved themselves for the Lakers this past season.
Reaves and Hachimura also proved they could be factors in shooting the ball from the perimeter.
When you think about all-time Lakers greats: such as Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Shaquille O’Neal, have multiple of championships and finals MVPs for the Lakers.
Since James; has been a Laker, he’s only won one championship as a Laker. However, James can bring another title as a Laker. It could probably get him a statue built at the Staples Center someday.
One championship as Laker is something no one can gloss over. However, a second Championship puts James in Laker heaven.
Hopefully, the Lakers can get their wish this upcoming season and get a championship, which would be their; second championship in four years.
It’s unimaginable: to think that LeBron’s story is still being written. James will be turning; 39 years old this season, and his play will be important for the Lakers all season.
This season could also be LeBron’s last year as a Laker because Bronny James, who is LeBron’s son, may enter the NBA draft in 2024.
For the past few years, James has been staying; he wants to play with his son, and whatever team drafts Bronny, there’s a possibility; that he will, be going to team up with his son.
James will have a player option next summer and can; become a free agent for the 2024-2025 season.
The Los Angeles Lakers are putting everything into this season, and with the team having an entire off-season and regular season together, the Lakers will be a better team than last year.
LeBron has a lot of help this upcoming season, and if the Lakers stay healthy, their ceiling could be winning their 18 championships, holding that Larry O’Brien Trophy in June, and being the 2023-2024 NBA champions.
