The Chicago Bears shocked a lot of people in Sundays win against the San Francisco 49ers. How the Bears came out in the second half of the game and turned things around was very impressive. However, there isn’t much to be excited about..yet.
The Chicago Bears are slipping and sliding up to Lambeau Fields to play Aaron Rodgers and the Greenbay Packers. Lucky for the Bears, Greenbay is coming off a horrendous loss against the Minnesota Vikings. Rodgers was struggling to have any type of connection with his wide receivers now that WR Devante Adams is gone. If you’re the Bears defense, you should take advantage of the fact the Packers offense isn’t all the way together right now.
The Greenbay Packers have won the last 11 out of 12 meetings against the Chicago Bears and are currently on a six-game winning streak. Rodgers has a completion record 62% of his passes for 2,384 yards, 23 touchdowns, and just one interception against Chicago.
The last time the Bears played Greenbay, the Packers won 30-45 in Lambeau Field.
Bears Offense
To beat the Packers, the Bears offense needs to get off to a fast start. In Sunday’s game against the 49ers, the Bears struggled horribly to get anything going during the first half. That won’t cut it where with the Packers. You will have to score to win in Greenbay. Point blank period. Scoring and scoring quickly will help the Bears win.
QB Justin Fields will need to get out of the pocket and get out often. That defense and secondary the Bears will face is tough and hungry. Fields needs to do everything he can to get that ball out of his hands.
The Bears need to get the running game going. The Bears need to utilize David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert more. Herbert in Sunday’s win ran in a touchdown. A touchdown which came from safety Eddie Jackson. The Bears will need a lot of this come Sunday.
Defense
The Bears defense have a little bit of an advantage since Rodgers and the offense isn’t seeing eye to eye right now. In Sunday’s game against the 49ers, the defense unit confidence was rising by the seconds during the second half of the game. Eddie Jackson, Jaylon Johnson, and safety Jaquan Brisker had a great game and they’re looking to keep the confidence up come Sunday evening.
Injuries: WR Velus Jones Jr returned to practice this week but was limited. Jones Jr missed the season opener due to a hamstring injury. Jones Jr finally returned to practice after missing more than a week.
OL Riley Rieff is on the IR due to a shoulder injury. Rieff played well during Sunday’s game against the 49ers. The offensive line will need him and everyone of that matter to get this win against the Packers Sunday evening.
Bears vs Packers is Sunday evening on NBC. Kickoff is at 7:20
