The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Atlanta Falcons 48-25 and improve to 2-0 this season with two impressive home victories against the Dallas Cowboys and now the Atlanta Falcons.
Coming into the season the Buccaneers had won eight consecutive games including the Super Bowl LV victory against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Buccaneers have improved their winning streak to 10 games and they look like a team that’s looking to improve on their winning streak.
Tom Brady threw for 276 yards and five touchdowns in the victory over the Atlanta Falcons. In Brady’s lifetime career against the Falcons, he improves to 9-0. In two games, Brady has already thrown for 9 touchdowns and he may have one of his best seasons ever.
It seems like Brady is the Falcons kryptonite because they have yet to prove they can beat him.
Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has played six games in his career against teams quarterbacked by Tom Brady. Ryan’s are 0-6 in those games.
Ryan threw for 300 yards against the Buccaneer’s defense and had a good game throwing the ball. However, Ryan did throw 3 interceptions including two picks six’s.
Ryan has to be better when it comes to protecting the ball because when you’re facing a team like Tampa who has an explosive offense that can put points up quickly.
Since the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI against the Patriots. The struggles have continued throughout the years and now it seems like they’re in rebuilding mode.
Brady wasn’t the only Buccaneer that had a monster game in the Bucs victory. Rob Gronkowski scored the first two touchdowns for the Buccaneers today.
Gronkowski has scored a pair of touchdowns for the third straight game, including the Super Bowl. Gronk and Brady continue to climb the career list of regular-season touchdowns by a passing duo with 88 one behind Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates for second place behind Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison (112).
Mike Evans also scored two touchdowns for the Buccaneers. Evans scored on 3 and 1-yard touchdowns.
Despite, the Buccaneers winning in high fashion. The Buccaneer’s secondary is still a question mark because the Falcons we’re giving the Buccaneers some problems in this game.
If the Buccaneers want to win a championship and be the first team to repeat since the 03-04 Patriots. They’re gonna need to get better because this Buccaneer’s defense doesn’t look like the defense that won the Super Bowl this past season.
Next week, the Buccaneers will have their first true test on how good they actually are because they will be facing an undefeated Rams team in Sofi Stadium.
The Buccaneer’s defense will have to be ready when they face the Rams offense that’s led by Matthew Stafford and a high-powered offense that can match the Bucs offense.
Should the Buccaneers look to add another piece to their secondary?
One player that comes to mind is Richard Sherman. Is Richard Sherman the piece that the Buccaneers are missing?
In the third quarter, Ryan threw a touchdown to Calvin Ridley and Cordarrelle Patterson before running a 2-point conversion to trim an 18-point deficit to 28-25.
Mike Edwards was the big difference in the fourth quarter for the Buccaneers. Edwards scored off two picks six’s that broke the game open.
Can the Falcons turn this season around?
The Atlanta Falcons will try to end their losing streak this upcoming Sunday when they travel to New York and face the Giants.
Will the Buccaneers improve their secondary sometime during the season?
The Buccaneers will travel to the west coast and place the Los Angles Rams. Both teams will be coming into the game with a 2-0 record.
