If you love college football and don’t love the Mountain West, then you do not love college football. Some of the best football in the country is being played on the West Coast and as things stand, the Mountain West remains the last bastion of true west coast football. After an incredible 2023 season, which saw a computer decide the title game matchup after a three-way tie at the top of the standings, fans should expect even more fireworks in 2024.
Washington State and Oregon State join as pseudo-members of the conference along with multiple high-profile P5 transfers. The conference itself is already full of NFL-grade talent and with the inclusion of some new big-name coaching hires and the return of some of the most brilliant offensive minds in football, expect a points-happy season come this fall. With that being said, here’s my Mountain West First team.
11 personnel on offense, nickel formation on defense. Defensive ends and on-ball linebackers are grouped into the EDGE position. This is who I think will be the best of the best at the end of the season.
