Brett Favre had a hall-of-fame career. He appeared in 2 Super Bowls, winning 1, and was an 11-time pro bowl player. He had the mentality of a gunslinger. The media and broadcasters loved his “riverboat gambler” mentality. As a Packer fan, I never liked it. He had a great arm and was talented but he was one of the dumbest decision-makers to ever play the quarterback position. Favre never lived for another play or down. It drove his coaches crazy. He constantly tried to make something happen when it wasn’t there. That is part of the reason why he is No.1 all-time in throwing interceptions. In 298 games played, he accumulated 332 interceptions.
Drug Addiction:
In an interview with Dr. Phil, the 51-year-old said he was addicted to painkillers while dealing with an injury in 1994 during his time with the Green Bay Packers. “It sort of numbed the pain, but it also felt pretty good, I found that if the pain lingered, I could get more pills. It snuck up on me, it was two pills that gave me a buzz, and then it was four. At its peak, I was taking 16 Vicodin ES all at one time.”
Infidelity:
Favre who is a self-proclaimed man of God allegedly sent inappropriate text messages and voicemails to former Jets reporter Jen Sterger. Favre did this while he was married. Sterger said. “He was like that guy at the bar that just could not get the hint,” Favre denied sending explicit pictures but below are the voicemails. Again, this is coming from a married man who preaches all over social media, how God comes first in his life.
“Wanted to have you come over tonight — love to see you tonight,” one recording said.
Another voicemail.
“I’m still trying, just got done with practice. I’ll try the other phone you’re probably caller ID’ing me but if you can make it, it would be great.”
Sterger never accepted his invitations and said, ““I’ve never met him. We’ve never met,” She added, the closest she’s been to him was when they would pass each other in the tunnels at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey.
Outcome:
The NFL could not conclude that Favre sent explicit pictures but fined him $50,000 and issued a reprimand. According to the league, Favre had not been…
“Candid in several respects during the investigation, resulting in a longer review and additional negative public attention.”
In other words, the former Green Bay quarterback was lying or hiding the truth. If a man invites a woman to come back to his apartment, a woman he doesn’t really know, how many other women did Favre invite, and how many accepted his advances? So much for the sanctity of marriage and family values.
Welfare Scandal:
Favre is allegedly involved in the largest case of public fraud in Mississippi history. According to a state audit, at least $77 million of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families have gone into the pockets of the rich and powerful in his state.
“If you were to pay me is there any way the media can find out where it came from and how much?
Favre text Nancy New, the official who ran the non-profit that allegedly stole the welfare money.
He allegedly coordinated with state officials to direct the $5 million meant to help residents of Mississippi to fund his daughters volleyball stadium at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Brett is worth over $100 million yet he was trying to steal money that was supposed to go to those who are less fortunate. He knew it was wrong, as the text messages indicated, but still wanted to do it. He didn’t care that he stole the money, his only concern was… would he get caught.
I’ve never met Mr. Favre but in every way, he is everything wrong with our society. He’s a liar, a cheat, a conman a fraud, and a bully. He pretends to be a man of God while cheating on his wife, abusing drugs, and taking money from the needy. If Jesus came back to earth today he would condemn the hypocrite right to his smug face. Just because someone threw a football professionally, it does not put them above the law. If anyone reading this article stole, $5,000, $50,000, or $5 million from the government they would be in jail waiting for a trial. This guy is walking around as a free man and people still idolize this deplorable human being. Do better America. Stop worshipping terribly flawed and evil human beings.
And when they break the law, hold them accountable.
