Days after the Eagles traded up in the 2016 NFL Draft with the prediction of selecting a quarterback, Eagles’ quarterback, Sam Bradford, told the Eagles’ front office that he requests to be traded or he won’t show up to offseason workouts although many fans may say that he didn’t show up for the regular season.
Per ESPN, Bradford was obviously upset about this trade and hence his decision to be traded. Bradford’s agent, Tom Condon, added to this by saying, “Basically, our contention is that the team could have used the draft picks on offensive and defensive players for this season, to win this season. If the plan was to build for the future, where does that leave Sam this year?”
When Bradford started last season, the Eagles won seven games while losing seven. He threw for 3,725 yards and 19 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.
Now, the question is whether or not the Eagles will fulfill his demand. I believe that Bradford will decide to come back to the team before the regular season. The Eagles will draft a quarterback this year’s draft and will compete with Bradford for the starting spot. Prior to the regular season opener, Bradford will end up being named the starter in potentially his last season in Philly after just resigning this offseason.
