Josh Taylor delivered an awe-inspiring performance fit for a king — the new undisputed junior welterweight king of the world.
Taylor dropped Jose Ramirez twice en route to producing a unanimous decision victory at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night. All three judges scored it 114-112 in favor of Taylor, who became just the sixth man in boxing history to be crowned undisputed champ in the modern four-belt era. By adding the WBC and WBO titles to his WBA and IBF straps, Taylor also joins Terence Crawford as the only two junior welterweight undisputed champions in the history of the sweet science.

“There’s a new warrior king, and he’s from Scotland,” Taylor proclaimed fresh off his victory. “Anybody who wants to fight … let’s go!”
Great fight for the undisputed championship. This is how I scored it. How did you score it? #RamirezTaylor #TopRank #Boxing pic.twitter.com/XauvGGHzNH

Putting Ramirez down twice was the key. That could be a rematch I would be interested in.

Fireworks were traded over the first five rounds, with Taylor getting the better of the action behind the jab and boxing tactics — like a shoulder in the clinch to create space. Then, in the sixth round, Taylor began changing the complexion of the fight for good. He swiftly ducked under a right hand from Ramirez before blasting him with a counter left hook to score the first knockdown of the fight just seconds into the round. Ramirez crashed face-first to the canvas but made it up to survive the round.
In a recent interview Floyd Mayweather admit that he has “No Strategy” for his upcoming fight against You Tube Boxer, Logan Paul.
He most likely will not need any!
Floyd Mayweather takes part in another inevitably one-sided exhibition bout on Sunday, June 6 against YouTube star Logan Paul, and the retired 50-0 boxing legend was understandably confident about the whole thing in a recent interview.
Mayweather’s last ‘official’ professional boxing contest came in August 2017 when he stopped the UFC’s Conor McGregor. And while McGregor was a boxing novice, the worthiness of Mayweather’s opposition has plummeted even since then.
The American destroyed Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa on New Year’s Eve 2018 in an exhibition and is expected to do the same to Paul, who has fought twice against fellow streamer KSI to a draw and a defeat.
“If I want it to go one round, it’ll go one round. If I want it to go two, [it’ll go] two. It’s all up to me.”
Many expect Mayweather to overwhelm Paul quickly before moving on to another exhibition later this year against Logan’s brother Jake Paul. Jake is 3-0 in the boxing ring, though his opponents — FIFA video game streamer AnEsonGib, retired NBA player Nate Robinson and former UFC grappler Ben Askren — are nothing compared to the multi-time world boxing champion who never lost a professional bout.
